A very strong hunch as dibble said - they like 3 - they count in base 3.

And

have three fingers ;)

Michael Brookes, in the interest of avoiding hundreds of us potentially wasting thousands of hours on a wild goose chase, would you perhaps have mercy and tell us whether there is *currently* any way to discover the surface coordinates of a new Guardian site *other* than randomly flying around hoping to chance upon it and spot it by eye? A simple yes or no would suffice. :)

Don't feel bad if you don't get a response. God never answers my phone calls, either.

Hell, at this point, I'd accept a row of burning braintrees in the shape of an arrow pointing in the correct direction as a positive response.

Damn, you've been staring at them for a while, eh? ;)

I do something, but the main problem is the reading direction. Best clues was from top to bottom, from middle to outside or simply average them (explanation below).

and two interesting cents:
If use this "obelisk's divide patern" then in every "big" triangle will be one on or off except two. That's why i like it.

The relic/beacon towers have a large triangle and smaller around them right. So, if we impose a large triangle on these we get rows of 4 smaller triangles around it. We could interpret those as binary bits and we have 16 bit values in each then.

Braintrees's fruits remind me of ... UP and UA heads. Are they UP/UA farms?

And: Ram Tah's anagram is Ra Math ... Math of Ra (Egyptian god of Sun) ;-)

I think the problem is they have developer bias - they figure since they can figure out their own puzzle, why can't we?

I was so hoping for another hint or related CG this week, but alas, nothing. I just keep watching that mission clock tick down day after day.

Ok what I think is one "cell" of the obelisk display -

now if its balanced i think this-

- would seem most likely as it's a computer
or possibly
if "plain" ternary.

Having decided which to use - we then need to decide which way to "read" the numbers - up, down or in out etc - but i think taking the smallest grouping of 3 as "1 unit" is a pretty good bet.
What you then do with the numbers obtained is an exercise left for the reader :p

- excuse rotten "paint" skills - paint and Wolfram Alpha in one night - need a lie down :p

...it's the Triforce!!!

It'd be great if two or more different interpretations of the alien relics became popular and we ended up in a galaxy wide war over which interpretation was "true"....

It gets worse - if it's balanced ternary then - well, this might help https://rosettacode.org/wiki/Balanced_ternary

I need a lie down now - thanks for listening folks - hopefully this might have sparked something with someone else.

Goes and breaks out the dark chocolate Tunnock Teacakes - serious business this :p

BTW if you can write the program to solve the above problem - do us all a favour and run the obelisk data through it there's a good chap (or lass) :)

The temperature of the ruins planet struck me as having an oddly round number.. 300k..

There are some in the systems we're looking for with the exact same temperature.

i was saying the same thing a few pages ago.
i have been searching this one Body IC 2391 Sector ZE-A d101 C 3 since yesterday. nothing so far.

300K = 26,85° C seems like a nice warm temperatur. Now we need coordinates.

Those pix are really good, many thanks. Can you confirm they are of the four different relics on the pillars at the site? The glyphs look identical in these whereas I thought I could see differences between them in those pictures of Thatchinho & Megacracker
I took the 4 relics & dropped them near the obelisks, to test a theory (result: zero) - took pics of each. Dunno if moving the relics to ship & back & around in the SRV messes up with them? I try to take better pics with the relics on their towers later.
