Wow! It looks like I correctly figured out the system, but I was wrong with the planet http://i.imgur.com/1JgM8i0.jpg

I believe we will find that this ruins has the same features... Such as Bernard's loop rising where it does... the star it orbits will rise and fall in the same spot and so will the moon... which means we can find planets that have these items visible from the surface should lead us to the next site... i do like CMDR Dreamstate's idea... i think he is really got it down on how to find the spots on the planets... and leprotravel i think your also on to something... now lets apply these theories to the other systems... and see if we can find the other sites... one of them has to be different... i bet its on the farthest system out of the 4....

So is it confirmed that the ruins are the same layout as the original find? That would suggest we've been barking up the wrong tree with regard to the layout being a map.

Possibly, even probably, but I don't think we should give up the notion entirely just yet - with two sites, we should be able to test if its possible to locate one from the other and vice versa. Its possible all of them are encoded in the ruins.

Or none of them.

Done with this whole fiasco. The "new" site is an exact same copy paste. No new data either. Everyone is getting the same scans as they were from the old site.

Way to go.

I'm already upto 5 million just sitting here flabbergasted at this whole farce trying to see if there's anything different, something out of place, nothing so far, hey I can sit here earning millions of credits leeching from other commanders if that's what FD wants, or they could actually put some imagination and substance in place.

The moon is just rising over the old site, above the small circle.

It is reported the new site also has a moon - is it also rising *right now*?

It's taken me 2 weeks to get through this thread...man it moves fast!

And just as I get towards the end....tada, a new ruin is found. That's awesome.

I got sick of flying around aimlessly on some random planet so decided to pop over to Sgr A* for a cuppa :/

Anyways....some observations..
I also encountered a uss at IC 2391 sector ZE-A d101 C 3 wondered if perhaps there might be one of those "mission uss's" that might be floating around with more clues?

Fwiw I don't think the ruins would contain a "map" per se. Not since Ram called it monolith network anyways. Think your local telco....would they put a map of the other nodes with each node? I doubt it. The map would exist elsewhere. So I think we need to look at thr function....it's a network. So perhaps a routing table is encoded somehow?
Also, it would need to be a big aerial of sorts. Is there anything about the location that lends itself to that?

And picking up on something else someone said about blocking....did someone already test removal of all the artefacts prior to running the message pairs?

Commanders, kindly direct your attention over here...

IC 2391 SECTOR GW-V B2-4 B 1

LAT -29.10
LONG -30.51

Right, me job's done :) I'm having a pesky migraine, so excuse me if I'm not available for questioning. Also it's my birthday today, so kind of a neat present for me, no?

Have fun!

Awesome job CMDR! you are the man! Great birthday present too!

How did you find it? Pure luck?

Im sat in Felice Dock in Meene, Im tempted to cash in on what Iv got from the ruins (again!), delete all the data Iv got & start the mission again, in Solo to see if the same or different set of data scans is obtained from the now two sites.

If there are still two more sites to find then assuming we'll get around 13 from each, there's still new data out there to be found.

I've just landed in the ruins at the end of the long ridge
-29.1723 -30.5039 on IC 2391 SECTOR GW-V B2-4 B 1 (the second star down in the system view, first planet in)

The long ridge is aligned exactly North this time which will make navigating round the map easier.
Sadly is in darkness

could you get a screenshot of the planet details please??? :D

I want to know the differences between this new planet and the old one!

p.s. thanks for the inside ruins co-ords :)

I don't think I was far off in my drawing it is almost 32 by 32 :D so good to know all the locations I've been searching on 11 B aren't fruitless, as I always deviate by at least 4 latitude/longitude in a circular pattern to make sure I don't miss anything:

The beta site does have a moon.

It looks like the "erosional" features of the beta site match those of the alpha site. The same "columns" that are knocked over and walls that look like they were eroded or "fallen in" look the same. I can assume that the obelisks that are damaged are all exactly damaged as the alpha site....

A moon you say...?

The new site provides the same data
