Im currently trapped at the end game for this universe, finding less and less to do. was honestly hoping this Alien story would reinvigorate my interest... :(

I keep thinking this...

Same for me, I got this game for exploration, but after the same old same time after time I began to lose interest, then the aliens arrived and we got news about alien ruins, suddenly I was invigorated, first slight disappointment was the hyperdiction, it was done brilliantly, but totally scripted and out of the players hands, and now this, it just feels so shallow.

Hello all,
People!
I found marks from relics 3(beacon) to the pyramid,
mark as triangles on the ground.

object 3 makes one rotation every 12 sec

Sorry, but this is not new, and they're objects for rendering sound, anyway I find it difficult to accept that FD intended us to use the debug cam to solve this puzzle.

Guys, I've been thinking. The planet with the new ruins also has a moon. Can someone confirm/deny that the moon sets/rises at the big and small circle in the ruins, like in the first ruins?

If this is the same case, then we are looking for planets around red suns with moons, and we are looking on the ground below the orbit of the moon!

This should reduce the search area by a lot!

2. You can only scan an obelisk once. In solo they stay inactive, in PG/open they say you've already got the data. I don't believe FD would require us to relog as part of the game, so this implies that in order to move from step 1 to step 2, you get everything you need from a single scan.

Fwiw I've never seen a "you've already got that data" message and I was in PG. Now due to my timezone I was the only one in the PG so was basically the same as solo. All I got was either a msg about using a different combo, or nothing at all (or the data packet if I hadn't gotten it already)

Yup - check out Adama's post

I just discovered something that may or may not bee known. Anyway, hope it helps.

The relic has the same triangles on it as the obelisks (which we know) but the blinding light coming from the relic is only bright from two sides and NOT the side the triangles are on. I can show vid if necessary but the easiest way to see this is to take the debug cam up to a rotating relic in the pillar and just watch.

This implies that they are meant to be read and used. Also I've noticed that if you eject the relic from the SRV on flat ground it always lands vertically, making it easy to see all 3 sides without needing the debug cam.

Known since ruins 1 and discussed quite a bit. They can be found under all beacons.
Besides it's debug-cam only, so it should be dismissed.

Why???
This tool gave me the developers.

And such a program to work with sounds and hertz, it is necessary to extract from the outside!

Isn't solo bugged as well? But in a different manner.
The Devs said the obelisks were suppose to reset after a period, but they never reset in solo.

That's sort of how it goes. There is no space in this game without bugs, just less obvious bugs.

Basically Open and PG ruins are seriously bugged, and the solo ruins are just normally bugged.

object 3 makes one rotation every 12 sec

This comes up periodically. They're placeholder objects to anchor emission of the various sounds of the ruins. They rotate to create the movement effect for the audio.

You can get the 'already scanned' message in solo - when you target and scan an obelisk then after it scans re-target it straight away and re-scan. Have to be quick, target fades after ~ 1 sec. Same in an empty PG, if you're fast :) so the mechanics are the same, just in Open / full PG you can still see targets left for others.

So, trying to summerize this (I don't have much time to play but i'm trying to follow this neverending thread, so i might miss a few points).
<snip>
9c. It's a placeholder. Plot is behind schedule and players are moving much too fast for FDevs.
This would be my guess. The whole situation stinks of scrambling somewhere in FDev - aside from anything else, the idea of Ram Tah 'narrowing the field down' to such a gigantic area strikes me as a desperate attempt to slow down players. They could have easily given more useful information after that CG, but didn't. Why, other than to try and slow us down?

Standardised makes sense to me. Telcos don't go building bespoke installations each time they set up a new node. If the "errosion" is the same also though....perhaps it isn't errosion. Perhaps it is a deliberate part of the design.

Activating relics at both sites would be impossible in solo I think, so probably not?

Telcos don't build buildings by hitting control-c and control-v. It's ok to talk OOC here, this isn't a RP forum.

Known, discussed a lot - think there is work in progress on decoding even now.

Hadn't spotted that myself, nice!
