Cheers rob, having a great time with EDTracker so far, I'll give this a try later tonight when I'm not looking after the kids 👍

I got a few minutes spare between changing nappies and feeding :)
Yup works lovely.
no way to set new drift though, it just looks at the current data I guess? continuing to use the old EDTrackerUI as I need to re-do the drift every day

I thought it might just be me that has to recalibrate each day I use it. Thought it might be environmental changes affecting it, temperature and electromagnet interference.

Will test the new software when I get home.

Just locks up the computer and have to power off and restart (can't ctl-alt-del to task manager) does this with and without tracker connected.

Laptop Dell XPS i7 Win 7

will try on my XP desktop machine later

Thanks Rob. Well done! Works for me. The old one didn't. Had to use the processing IDE workaround.

(But - there is always one - in this version the head movement is inverted. With the other UI the monitor would feel like a mirror. I find this one a little less intuitive.)

Thanks chaps,

With that feedback in mind I'll continue with the new version but keep the Processing one in step as well.

First version will be end of the weekend and should be 1:1 functionally with the Processing UI, with perhaps some extra tweeks :)

Good things take time. Don't rush. Enjoy your weekend. If you do this while programming then this is allright we me though. :D

Further to my previous post, this does work on my clapped out old XP machine, but still locks up on my Win 7 Dell Laptop.

Hi Bob,

Out of interest, do you have any other devices on com ports (visible in Device Manager) ?

Ah I thought you could be on to something there.

I had Com 3,15,24,25,26,27 all set to 'bluetooth over serial' but uninstalled them all and retried but it still freezes and repowering is the only way to recover :(

Bob

edit:

whilst typing above, after long pause the UI comes up, its just a very long pause 5 mins or so

It also gives different results to running on XP on there the Z axis value is so high (relative to X,Y) the head slowly revolves.

On the Laptop the Z value is quite low (relative to X,Y) but the head is just shaking wildly around on all axes
