We already lose many videos due to swearing in in-game text chat, voice comms, in the voiceover and overlay text.

In my sig it says all I need to say about ship naming...a name ive used on every ship in every space game Ive ever played, and it hits a swear filter created in a granny state seemingly ^

And its not even remotely close to being a swear word...or even remotely rude at all. I honestly have no idea why the word is banned as they never ever explained why ^

Just add the forum filter to the ship naming filter.

Players, like forum users, will be very "creative" when creating text that passes the filter but is obviously avoiding it.

The next problem would probably be that the permitted name length is likely to be too short to allow players to name their ships Culture style....

Whilst I realise OP was not being totally serious you could never please everyone. I think they would please a majority however if FD posted that after careful thought they had decided to go back to basics and have a genuine crack at delivering the vision in the DDF and dev diaries

Naming my ship is about as exciting as naming my computer. Im sure many will agree. Sure not going to make the forums happy.
