PampRats Head for the Formidine Rift

PampRats Head for the Formidine Rift

On 2nd February 3303 the PampRats, veterans of DWE, CNE, and lately the DSE, embarked on their latest adventure into the stars.

CMDRs NCC71201, Maak, Dandak, John Shibregro and Simon Woods set off from the Timbaldaris System. They understand that their erstwhile colleague CMDR Donkey Hote is heading to join them from his exploration of the Stellar Graveyard.

The mission? To simply explore and help to solve the continuing mysteries of the Rift.

They also hope to solve one of the longest standing questions - when you are executing a manoeuvre and are counting down from 3 - should you go on 1 or 0 or GO!?

Messages of support, suggestions for locations to explore should be sent through this thread.

Regular video logs of the team's exploits will be posted here also.

Might I suggest Alessia's Pearls as a first waypoint or early stop? These are a binary pair of Earth-like Worlds in Outopps KO-X c28-0 that have been tagged by Salomé herself. They are about 1200LY outside the bubble (you can see the POI under 'planetary features' in EDSM).
.
Fly safe CMDRs and good luck in your search!

Good luck commanders :)

In addition to Alessia's Pearls as Edelgard mentioned, there are several other systems out there that have been tagged by Salomé.

Full details can be found here, as well as CoR listening post locations. If you do find any other undocumented Salomé systems, be sure to share them!

Fly safe o7.

Hi,

thanks Simon for setting this up.

@Edelgard von Rhein: Alessia's is already on our agenda :)

@Erimus: Of course, if we find something we will let you know.

John and me have pushed on to investigate the various mission settlements. Some disturbing finds in the logs left by the Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta crews. Not to mention the eerie nature of ground modules still powered up. One of the Delta Mission team was left stranded in a sidey, hoping to make it to the ELW he had spotted in the system. Alas, as so often, scanning the system bodies showed all such promising worlds to be HMCs - poor CMDR must have perished in a foul mood!

One of the logs left by the Alpha Mission team suggests that they still had three more months to travel - one assumes along the same trajectory that brought them to the place of their demise. I suggest we continue on through the rift approximately 4200 LY to see what is on the other side. There are warnings about not travelling directly across the rift, but with our jump range I hope we will be OK - after all, are we not KLINGONS!!

USS Drake, Booster and Uhura have reached SPONGAEA OL-T C17-1. Crossed the Rift via the Heisenberg Crossing without incident - jump range more than enough. Am planning to head back to the edge of the rift from this location scanning anything that moves in a direct line between SPONGAEA OL-T C17-1 and the edge of the rift this side in a direct line of sight to Reorte. Noted from EDDiscovery maps that my location is not on the 'RR' (Reidquat-Reorte) line but maybe this is a mistaken interpretation of the log recovered at Alpha Mission base.

Join me when you can PampRats - got a pot of tea brewing o7

Transmission interference means the week 3 video is slightly late!

Aquarius C (and the ever suffering Ships Cat, Uhura, made it back to the Rift in no time and joined NCC, John and Maak ready to search the RR line heading towards the rim. In search of what, we aren't completely sure!

CMDR Donkey Hote has refitted his Anaconda at Colonial and is making good progress as the rest of us await his arrival, whilst we install and test the latest software updates to the ships' systems. We are promised great things but some of it sounds hollow to me!

CMDR Dandak - lost deep in space at this time, though we trust he is looking after himself, and all send our best to the old space dog. We've been making plenty of curry-wurst for when you are able to rejoin us.

Booster, out
