Advice on the best Imperial rank grind right now?

Try the scan missions in fehu, you won't be disappointed, I did the whole of the marquis rank in maybe 2 hours last night using the scan missions and the donations that popped up. The board there seems to overflow at the moment when you get allied with the factions, as of last night you don't even need to move switch just leave the board and go back into it!

I've been doing this for the past couple of days. I make a minimum of 10 million credits for each stack of 20 missions, plus I can easily nab valuable materials as an extra reward. I went from 35% baron to 100% in just a few runs. I haven't had a decent ascension mission yet, so there's no telling how far I am into the next rank.

Fehu is great, many thanks for the tip - this actually feels like you are getting somewhere without putting in an agonizing amount of time, and this mission type is for me at least something fresh to do. That being said, I suggest we let the thread die now, we all know what happens to fun things ;).

Mission accomplished!

Its shiny and it will probably never leave the station as I have much better ships now but I got it!

I have not had a single ascension mission since the patch the other day :(

I went to Cubeo to store my Annie and grab my Clipper so I could land and dock faster. There was a nice data courier mission for ascension there. The only ones out of Fehu have been smuggling runs.

It took a couple of mode switches to get it to work though. Almost as bad as Marco Qwent and his stupid invitation mission in Sirius. Keep trying. You'll get one. :3

Definitely seems to be back with a vengeance at Fehu, I just made 10% more Viscount towards Count in a fifteen minute session. Mainly from Planetary Scan missions and a sprinkling of donations on top. There's a shed load of Massacre missions available too.

Also the mission board seems to refresh mych quicker now, no need to even mode switch!!!??

Shu Babassi is back. My colonia account is back in the bubble for some shopping. I ranked up from
0% none to master in about an hour and a half yesterday. Just do not go to Matthew mines. Go to the surface bases. I like this place because there is only one base to deliver to instead of the 2-4 base merry-go-round.

I like HIPWu to be honest. 3 outposts, one station and one surface settlement, plenty of data deliveries, some well paid commodity missions and some passengers. Earned about 150m in a couple of leisurely weeks, 81% broker and progressed from master to count. One round trip takes about 45 minutes then i can take a break ...

Fehu was going strong but it just dried up leaving me at 27% Earl

At some point in the next couple of weeks i am going to go looking for similar systems to Fehu, on the fringe with restricted mission choices etc. If I find anything else I'll let you know, I was enjoying the scanning missions.

The trick to HipWu (I like this, lol) is to try and be as efficient as possible. In Wu, I hit only Ziegel and Camm. In HIP, I do only the space outpost. NEVER do the surface bases as it takes too much time to land. Obviously, this all involves main menu hopping.

That's a good way to manage it but I didn't have the patience for it lol :(

Much appreciated. Fehu and the scan missions were a hell of a find. I used to smuggle out of there so I was already allied when I went back.

Went from baron to count + 150m in about 6 hours over a few days. Hit earl last night.

I was looking for 2 days empire donations missions and still no luck.

I've been grinding the last couple of weeks and have noticed the donation missions are seriously nerfed. I mean like you have to donate 1 million credits to get like 1.5% rank increase.

I noticed the last several days that even when I've stacked 16-20 data delivery or courier mission that it only equates to about 2% increase. THE GRIND IS TOO REAL!!!! [yesnod] But I'm determined to get my Cutter now so I'm sticking it out. Seems like ED is just all about nerfing any and everything lately.

I don't know if it was just my luck within the last two days, but Fehu scan missions weren't populating at all for me like most people have been reporting.

Anyone else seeing the same lack of Scan Missions that I am?

Two minor factions in Cubeo are bickering - since Thursday, both aligned with the Empire.
Lots of Scan Missions, Massacre Missions, Assassination Missions.
Drop in at any starport/planetary base within the system and check the mission board.

My problem is that I am Allied with both minor factions and can't just pick a side.

I ranked up from Serf to Duke during the last week, having played almost exclusively in Federation space for the last 2 years (where I have Admiral rank just from playing as I want).

For those like me, who don't want to do the scan missions (claiming 20 missions for one would be for me personally an exploit), I recommend Aditi. (Thanks to those that pointed to it).
It is slower than the stacked scans, and less profitable, but is more like regular play.

Doing the round PEW-1901 => SMJL Central => Diamond Vision => Dolgov Point => took 30-40 minutes, and gave 30 missions without mode logging. (Didn't need to use the planet bases in Aditi)

Total play time from Serf to Duke was 26 hours, of which 8 hours were for the 400 missions to get through Marquis.
I did data and freight jobs and any donations < 300k (they all give the same rep, even the 25k ones), but depending on states, there are also massacre and scan jobs available.

To me it didn't seem too grindy, and I earned 300MCr which is enough to buy and equip a trading Cutter (which I now own). :)

LOL you could always do all 20 scan missions, all the outposts spawn and its a great way to get data/software/firmware. ;)

Kill the Purple LTD. They're corporate. They're the root of all evil. Better keep the patron's principles.

Anyway, grinding rep for the first time and this is a pain. Really. How long did FD plan for the full ranking, without using "exploits", or killing oneself in an endless repetition of courier jobs? I do semi-RP playthroughs, while wrinting logs and there's just no way doing this makes sense. It would'nt kill to drop these requirements a little...
