I want Photon Torpedos! or maby different variations of missile salvos or different Torpedos who's on board?

A broader range of missiles and torpedoes would be cool. Come class 3 and 4 mounts for each, as well as some more options than just dumbfire and seeker.

Maybe a non powerplay cluster missile,
High damage dumbfire torpedo
far more agile but nigh inescapable "smart" torpedo for smaller targets

I think they used antimatter. That is beyond the technology we have in ED.

I think photon torpedoes are basicaly plasma acc. But i would like to see more variations on torpedoes and missiles. The engeneers and power play do provide a bit of variation however.

Size variation and ammo/payload variety would be cool. You used to be able to get smart missiles and naval missiles in the old ffe but missles work different in ED so i dont think they are aplicable.

Actually a common weapon in "hard" science fiction (meaning they actually care about the Science behind the Fiction...read as "Immershun") are Torpedoes/Missiles with (nuclear)bomb-pumped X-ray Lasers, and X-ray "particles" are just photons on meth, so they're actually pretty much "Photon Torpedoes" in every way that counts...Gene Rodenberry, predicting the future accurately...again.

Not to sidetrack this thread but not just the photon torpedoes gimme the enterprise with about a crew of 12 maybe 8 would work. I want that class of ship.. lol

Meh, the Enterprise looks weak compared to the solid looking ships of Elite...even Gutamaya wouldn't build something that spindly looking.

Photon torpedoes would be ideal for shooting into the thermal exhaust port of a Coriolis station. A precise hit will start a chain reaction which should destroy the station.

Everytime I hear someone talk nonsense about how a "big ship shouldn't be able to be taken out by small fighters" I think, yeah, and then you don't defend against it, genius and thats when they get you with a PROTON Torpedo to the exhaust port, just like nailing a womp rat in my T-16 back in Beggar's Canyon...
