A Final Plea to Frontier for Longer Hairstyles

Naoko Yamazaki had shoulder length hair:

I've got an idea. If you're so concerned that you can't get the hairstyle in the game to match your own than cut your hair in real life. Problem solved.

In my case that would be a crew cut but I would settle for virtual dreadlocks (for no apparent reason).

Perhaps all Cmdr's should be bald under Pilots' Federation Regulations...... and if you're not bald we will shave it off for.

Whilst, for me personally, it's not a big deal, as my character will be pretty much me, and I'm a typical short haired guy, if I wanted to recreate my mid 20's self, I'd be screwed, as I had quite long hair then (the whole surfer/extreme skier thing....). I probably would have been a little annoyed.

Really though, I can totally understand where this is coming from, especially from a character perspective, as someone may be roleplaying a Dothraki style, that doesn't cut their hair/beard/whatever unless they are defeated in battle/caught smuggling/find an alien ruin/whatever.

I really can't see the harm - even if it ends up being a Singapore Airlines style hairdo, where the long hair is tied up in a way that look neat, yet is clearly quite long if let out. There is no remlock/helmet issue there.

I think fdev were lazy big woopy do. not going to take it back it's called an opinion.

Lazy? They just demoed one of the best character creators in all of the video game industry, and you think it was lazy??? :S

Sure it's missing long hair, but just stop for a second and contemplate the amount of work that it takes to create and implement a video game character creator of the magnitude, customization, and graphical fidelity of what Frontier showed us today. If you can't, maybe you don't have any idea from a development point of view, then let me tell you that it's fracking impressive, and it took a BOATLOAD of hard work by a LOT of people to pull off.

Lazy? You have zero idea what you are talking about. You can hate the lack of long hair, that's fine, but to call them lazy for lacking long hair after showing what they DID show today? No, sorry, your opinion is veritably wrong.

One thing I have noticed about the photographic evidence presented in this thread for long hair operating in zero G is how happy and engaged in their activities all the people look.

Being in orbit in a zero G environment... that must totally rock.
