The logic is just for "FunTM" like lore. The real issue is that FD does not plan to add long hair to characters because of development reasons. Examples would be graphical issues, resource and deadline issues. People that do NOT care about the hard work that FD has done and shared with us, ignore those things......for rp reasons. Ridiculous.

Wouldn't it make sense that the remlok would just trim off any hair in the way of deployment?
Seems a small price to pay when you need emergency atmosphere and can use 3303 hair magic to replace it back at a station. Heck, could even be a new damage state that is visually represented any time your remlok retracts after reentering the docking bay.

I have long hair in my books, so agree with the OP. No reason it can't be done in the 34th century. The Remlok was originally a mask rather than a helmet too.
It's also in the game lore. You can't tell me that Aisling Duval hasn't flown on a ship... unless that really is a wig.

I wouldn't like to die in the cold of space only because my helmet couldn't lock in properly thanks to my hair getting in the way
If they could make things like that happen as meaningful repercussions for poor life choices in game, I say let the Commanders die.
I'm just looking forward to making my character and hoping I can hide how he looks under a helmet.

Not sure it's as simple as that because Frontier won't really want Screenshots in the wild, of their high quality HoLoMe feature, and game, with hair clipping through the helmet. It doesn't reflect well on their product so I don't know that it is a good idea to just bodge it and be damned.
Cuts out of long bobs that come in at the neck (thinking Scarlet Cverkill's, that fit in the helmet naturally) would give some scope and might be a start? Especially if hair falls in front of the face, giving the impression of being quite a bit longer than it actually is?

Whether it's even possible to add a 'no helmet' modifier in HoLoMe so your A rated life support (on the ship) has it's time limit reduced to zero by a character creator modifier I'm not sure because that would be technical. More likely (but still a technical problem) to me seems a 'long hair' helmet which is just stuffed full of hair of the right colour (needs your actual barnet to be removed by emergency situation) is the ideal solution?

I would think they could do it in a way that is still "contained" but long... buns or tails that tuck into the flight suit? I doubt Duval lets her hair go wild in zero gee.

Game do not need uber real hairs physics. Womans just deserve to have long haris as they like.
