Lets do some maths - game out just over 2 years, not even 1 percent of galaxy has been visited.

but lets for this discussion, we say 1 percent of the galaxy has been explored by all the players in 2 years. its a lot less but for this thats the assumption.

2 years 1 percent..... 200 years 100 percent..

yeah, increasing jump range, would ruin the game.

It's well under 1%.

However, I don't think many, if any, complaints around increased jump range revolve around the time it takes to explore the galaxy. So, way to miss the point entirely.

People tend to forget that Jump range has nothing to do with exploration. It just gets you further faster.
If you don't actual scan each system then you didn't explore it. I can plot 1000 lys. If i do it in a 30 ly asp set for fastest route i can do it in 33 jumps. That's only 33 systems. Do it in economical and you'll probably hit a hundred or more.
Increase jump range will get more people to center of the galaxy but they'll miss a lot along the way.

Even if the jump range was a million billion, we'd still not see it all. 400 billion stars is a a lot. That's what I love about this game. The scale is overwhelming!

Where is the "becoming a console game" tick box?

Your numbers are way off - the explored systems number is nowhere close to 1%, nowhere close :D - it's more like 0.000025% at most. It'll take about 70,000 years, not 200.

You would have the point if the goal of the game would be to discover 100% of the galaxy. It's not. You don't have a point, in fact, your post isn't even close to having a point.

You forgot "the game will die" as optional extra though. You absolutely must add it or your form will ehm... die.

Yes, the game has been dying since alpha 1.0 release, more than 3 years ago. Any time now, so the tick mark is very relevant.

It's been dying since some players decided that they didn't like some of the fundamental design decisions - so that's over four years.... ;)

I agree: the game is definitely on its last legs. If only there were innovations like a decent external camera, proper player avatars or multi-crew gameplay, the developers might be able to get the players to stick around for a few months more. But I can't see any of that happening.

I think the 7000 players (or was it more?) watching the stream yesterday was a good indication the game is finally almost dead. Come on, more players watching than playing...? :D

the lack of stuff out there (procedural content) honk and scan and fuel and jump gets a bit boring, volcanoes etc would encourage more activity if easily found and interacted with, but they dont even show on Blue poi scanner. Frontier keeps shooting itself in feet but there is hope

All them explorers passing by so many systems with their large jump ranges. It's refreshing to hear such a bold proposal to decrease jumprange to increase the number of honked systems.

It's not going to be popular, but props for sticking your neck out :)

Them live streams are killing the game, which is already dead!
