Flickering: I discovered something

That flickering on the edges when you are docked in a station, you know. The one that we all struggle with both in VR and normal play. I discovered that if you roll your head about 45° it disappears!!! Oh my!!! How I wish the pixels positioning in our headsets were oblique instead of horizontal (I don't know how to technically definte it). If you never noticed it, it's time to give it a try! ;)

Can someone chime in and explain me what I'm experiencing?

Yep, I get that too.

You're just seeing some of the vertical lines in the docking area, juust inside your field of view - they're aliasing really badly because the pixel grids are all vertical too. Even with a pentile array, any vertical or horizontal line, unless its perfectly level will alias badly as it jumps from line to line.

Its made worse by being more noticeable at the edges of your peripheral vision - because that's where we perceive motion much more readily - its the fight-or-flight-reflex that spots cockroaches, mice and lions out of the corner of your eye. So a flickering aliasing line is constantly buzzing you to notice it.

But, if you tip your head to one side, those horizontal/vertical lines all render nicely on many lines in the displays, as if they were jumping pixel lines every other line etc. Much less aliasing and shimmer.

Thank you Mr Red, you are exaustive and kind as usual. Have my daily rep ;)
