Ed said something interesting

And 2.2.3, guven the real lack of balancing that made it through - roadmap wise this was needed to put the assets in game.

What would be the point in press the button 3 months ago, people would have been reaaly bored of the cut scene before cHristmas and demanding 2.3, which clearly was along wy off back then. That would have been a case of over promise and under deliver. I think they got the timing about right for their release schedule.

Simon

People were bored of the cutscene a couple weeks after it happened anyway. Once the 'OMG' factor wears off, you come to the realization that it's just an uninteractive cutscene. They haven't even given us a use for the scans.

I love everyone's wild optimism that's the unannounced feature of 2.3 is going to be walking around... lol you guys. Walking around would be a headline feature, so it isn't going to be that.

It's probably something to do with asteroid bases, as this was teased in the PS4 trailer.

If it isn't the asteroid bases, it's the gas giants. Imagine a res site inside the clouds and if you go too deep you get pressure warnings. So smaller ships can escape to the depths and the larger ones will have to stop and launch fighters to pursue.

Would be interesting. The res site near Jupiter isn't even that close and it takes ages to supecruise out of it.

That comment gives me shudders and bad memories from EVE Onlines' "Walk in Stations" which ended up being "Trapped in your mini-apartment" instead...

It was a very nice apartment though [hehe]

I'm guessing is some kind of new mechanic, nothing as bis as walking around, but something nevertheless.
It has to tie to holome and the new camera, for this reason I don't think it's something thargoid related.

With a bit of luck we'll find out soon enough.

I'm hoping new SRVs for mining and passengers

Oooooh, that is a great idea.
I wish I could give you a box of rep.

The secret is that they have decided that the flat earth society was in fact correct and now we will be getting beige flat planets instead of beige round planet.

And we will even be able to fly straight into heaven and see a big bearded man sitting on a throne.
