Can someone explain rep and mission payouts?

I went to a system and I got the rep for three of the factions to allied. The missions are still paying out the same as when i first started working their reps.

My other friend is making millions pet mission. What gives? Any help would be appreciated.

Could be the state of the system restricting the access to high-paying missions. Is it a big system that has multiple stations/outposts? I would check around them and find whichever is the biggest to base yourself out of there, see if you have more success at those locations.

Also keep in mind that some of the higher-paying missions might have higher requirements - cargo space, etc. So make sure you check your Inventory; you need enough room to accept mission rewards (if it gives 4 commodities as a reward and you have no cargo space, it won't show as available). Also check to make sure you've got room for Data and Materials, too.

Another factor is the economy of the system; if it's, say, an Extraction system, and you're not into mining, then there won't really be much work for you to choose from. If you're looking for hauling missions, high tech, industrial, and agricultural are all good systems. I personally prefer high tech systems - I made my first home in a high-population high tech system.

If you're really looking for a system with a lot of trade, you can use the galaxy map to show trade routes, and pick one out that's a high-traffic system. The galaxy map can filter a lot of these bits for you - you can just show high tech, high population systems, or just agriculture systems, etc.

Along with this, if a specific faction is in a Boom state, they will pay out more, so look for those.

But a lot of the time, its also random. Try logging in and out of solo/open play to refresh the mission lists if your not seeing what you want. Sometimes you'll get lucky and get a lot of high paying missions you can stack, and sometimes some factions will have 0 missions to offer. It's kind of inconsistent at times.

It's scanning missions in quince. I now have most of the factions allied. The most any of the missions are paying is 250k. Same friend is here and he is making millions per mission.

Boom delivery missions are the ones that usually pay out the most, anywhere from 250k- as high as 3.5 mi. I've only gotten 3.5 once. Most of the time I got 900k-1.6mil. But like I said, it can be a bit random, so you wont see those missions all the time. If a faction is not in a boom, I doubt you will see mission rewards that high.

The past 2 days i haven't received any missions over 600k. It's just the way it is sometimes.

It's possible your friend is using a different Transaction Server to you. you could try relogging from Open to Solo and back again, you may pickup a different Transaction Server. If your mission board is not populating fully (as opposed to simply low payout missions), it could mean you have networking problems. I heard a dev say on one of the live streams a few weeks ago that they only have a finite amount of time to download the mission list from the TS to populate the board before a timeout would occur.

while missions aren't restricted by rank anymore, doesn't your rank also influence payouts? or is my mind playing tricks on me?

if you are in the same system at the same time in the same mode on the same server/instance- do your friend and you see the same missions?

Yes, I believe rank does affect mission payouts, but there are always the odd high paying, low rank missions that do crop up from time to time. But those tend to be pretty rare TBH.

I just did boom delivery missions between sothis and ceos to build up rep. After I got high enough I get some high paying missions. When I want to make between $800-1.6million I go to sothis mining station....that's where my big pay days can be found.

Well I found out what the problem was. Even though I was allied with everyone in Quince, I was needing my Explorer rank to be higher.

I did a trip to robigo then aditi and back to quince. I scanned everything along the way from the star and warped out. Ended up getting 3 ranks in Explorer and missions jumped up from 300k to 600k a mission. Problem solved lol. Now I need to do another trip and get my rank up more lol. Then I can get them 1mil+ payouts.

It took me two years to get my Python. Don't sweat the small stuff. Enjoy the ride :)

I love this game. I have a lot of goals and things I want to go and see. Heard so many amazing stories. Some of the best stories were about the fuel rats. So I am not going anywhere.

Mission payout is entirely random but set within a range dictated by the relevant elite rank. Faction rep only allows access to the better paying missions having allied status does not increase the rewards.
