>- Fix the mission generation iteration limitor as it was preventing missions from spawning and thus decreasing board size
Yes it looks like that might fix the number of missions.
FDev - Any news on the mission balancing problem on the server-side? Are we still likely to only see that after this update...? I know it's been said _many_ times before on here, but it's a real game breaker for me...
Kev
but why are you punishing those of us who don't play the beta?
Glad to hear they're working on it in beta, but why are you punishing those of us who don't play the beta? Turn the missions back to what they were before the devs started tinkering... If some players are taking advantage and getting "too rich", send them an email or something. why punish all of us because some people act up? (assuming that's what spurned the need to nerf missions?)
Just have a little patience.
You feeling punished is pretty confusing. ... You could just do what I'm doing and mostly stop playing until the patch releases... Something I typically do when a patch like this comes along.
I feel punished because we didn't even get two weeks to play Guardians before they released an untested patch on the live game that destroyed passenger mission rewards (like 0 cr rewards) in the name of "rebalancing". A week later, they admitted they went too far with the rebalancing, and tweaked something server side that brought rewards back up a bit. Now something else has changed (silently?) that's destroyed the rewards again.
As a casual gamer and a neophyte in the Elite universe, I don't understand really how the economy works. Is there a primer I can read that explains why having too much money, or making money too easily hurts anyone else's game experience?
Two weeks ago i flew four missions out of the bubble, to Colonia, Red Green and a few other stops, and earned 200m credits. That took me over a week at a few hours a day to accomplish. Does Fdev consider that unfair compensation, why? If I were a professional player, streaming on Twitch for 8 hrs a day instead of working my office job, I could have completed those missions in a few days. Would 200m credit compensation be unfair in that case, why?
I'm just frustrated with being punished for just wanting to casually play the game and make some progress rather than just tread water.
6 weeks patience on a game I paid 55 Euro's for is rather lenghty, don't you agree?
Then again, I did wait from 1990 until half a year ago for this version, so you are probably right...

Wauw, that is confusing! How can you NOT feel punished if your solution is to stop playing at all??? Really beats me, at least I try to play once every week, but give up after a short while because of boredom of not being able to do any mission

I stop playing because for some reason in my mind it makes more sense to just wait until the balance changes go through to make more progress. It doesn't feel punishing, it just feels more efficient to wait. Elite isn't the only game on the PC, I have plenty of other things to play. I could just play normally, just don't feel like it.
WoW. If you really made 100M then I understand why they felt the need to rebalance. I play for half a year now and did barely get that much in the whole six month...
Your doing it wrong then trading normal commodities I can make 12 million an hour. If you can't make enough even to buy an anaconda after two weeks of playing. Your not getting the game right
Honestly, I'm in the same boat. When I heard about 2.2, I was in the middle of doing some combat grinding with my FDL, and decided to hold off to see the changes in 2.2. Then I got addicted to Railroad Tycoon 2...and then this next point update is coming which is likely to shake things up a fair amount...so I'm holding off again until it's released (plus it also will likely address certain issues with passengers, crew members, neutron stars, module storage, etc., and I prefer to avoid game-breaker bugs if possible).
Yea same, I grinded up to a Python, according to steam I have over 300 hours on the clock.
I'd like to fly a bigger ship, but I don't feel like grinding for 100s of hours, nor do I want to flip the missionboard or exploit in other ways.
I don't enjoy such activities, I'd rather not play then exploit the system.
I fly a big ship and my brother sticks with his Python because he's always saying how useful the outposts are. Sometimes I stare at the mission board and bemoan my lack of choices. Well, at least I bemoan the size of my Anaconda.
