SDC Presents: Operation Healies4Feelies

Lol.....well SDC, I'm no combat pilot or a pvp combat one anyway. You have a very good point about it being over powered. And you make the Point well in the video. I do disagree with killing unprepared commander's but haveing said that....if it's in open then....That's another argument. The thing that ruins the hole vid is at the start unfortunately. Where you say "would have there "backsides" handed to them without heals " or words to that affect . This leads me to believe that

1. You guys had a fight and lost due to a "healer".
(My opinion on this is that it never should have been introduced unless FD plan to bring in wing only missions, which agane is a differant argument)

2. Some other group pvp group uses it much better in a combat situation.

If it wasn't for that one line....I could almost (almost) sympathise with you guys....but now the video just seems childish and silly.

Whoever put the video together did a good job though. Nice music, 8 out of 10 to watch. 1 out of 10 for who you did it for/too.

I hope this feedback helps guys! :)

The reason why seems pretty obvious to me.
Do it to NPC's, and people get a chuckle and say "funny vid!"
Do it to other CMDR's, and they get angry and complain to FD about how stupid, unbalanced game mechanics got them killed.
Enough people complain, and maybe it gets noticed and fixed.

Ok I'll take that point. And agane. I'm my mind open is open....join at your own risk. :)

I'm on my phone...spellcheck and all that...:)....I'll edit my post

I agree that trying to get the ships as close as possible is the best way to perform a true test of piloting skill, but I also agree with you that a better option exists. Someone wants to duel me they'd best be willing to put some skin on the line.

The 'stock sidey' challenge is valid, though still to an extent akin to a redneck producing two identical clapped out diesel pickup trucks and then telling a Formula 1 champion, "Nuh we gonna see how gud y'all reelly are at drivin racin cars at 200 mph boy".

Being serious, though, a part of the problem is that the game is engagingly complex and no single identical loadout duel would truly test every aspect of the skillset equally.

Any real challenge would involve both pilots fighting at least one small, one medium and one large ship duel.

And also you'd need to vary things up a bit - have a frag v frag contest, for example, to test close range skills, and a plasma v plasma, and rail v rail.

Plus SCB/pip management test slightly different skillsets to hull tanks.

So, it would be possible to do this thing but tbh I think you'd probably need at least six separate identical loadouts to have a truly fair assessment - perhaps more.

Then when/if it gets nerfed.......SDC could win "that" fight? Agane. Seems obvious the "why" :)

It's the same as the heat thing. Why would SDC or any other group make a point of something that was making them win pvp battles?.....Unless it was the reson thay where LOSING them? Transparent as glass. And funny to watch. I agree it needs looking at. But it's the way SDC spins it like thay are doing a good thing that realy makes people LOL. Anyone who can read between the lines knows (and is made very clear be that one sentence in this video) that thay lost some fight to another group...first to heat...now to heals. :)

I don't know this as a fact. And it may not be true. But just looking at it with half a brain......it's obvious

Hope this feedback helps you kill more unprepared commander's :)

F1 reference, love it.

I'm not a PvP'er or a SDC supporter. But to me, whether this was causing them wins or losses is irrelevant.
They took the time to put together a video that outlines how seriously broken a game mechanic is.
Anyone from FD who sees it cannot deny how borked the healing beams are. So for that I thank them, and hope that FD fixes it.

Some perspective. FD already answered them on reddit...before they posted this thread, so the issue was already resolved. So when ye see 30 pages of salt as a consequence, just remember...perspective ^

In the current case, that group you are referring to is 13th Legion. They are also the group they are referencing in the video, which you pointed out a few pages back iirc. There you go ;)

And I'll say agane...that I agree it's broken. Overpowered and must be very annoying especially for the pvpers like SDC and such. It's not the message thay are sending....it's the "why" thay are sending it in the first place. I may be wrong....and if I am I'll apologies and let someone from the SDC kill me for no reason (like I could stop them :) ). My issue is the fact that thay did the video at all is plane to see. It's because "without heals thay would have had there "backsides" handed to them" or words to that affect. I applaud what thay have done for bringing it to FD attention. But not for the real (it seems) reasons why.

Hope this helps...im a little drunk now :)

Exactly, and yet we get posts similar to this, quoted first, trying to 'redicule' those that are dedicated to PvE, and those of us that enjoy both parts are dismissed as 'you don't know what is right because you don't pvp right' in threads like this.

Goose is just stirring the pot...some will always react to the negativity as its the law of averages...one born every minute and all that. If ye read back through, theres actually quote a few who see right through what is an amateur attempt, and are laughing at them. Hence why most of them have long since left the thread...its simply not achieving what it was hoped to achieve by the op.

I think most right thinking regulars see right through them and their true motivations...any who dont are free to get as salty as they want, its funny to read sometimes. But its still telling when most players are more concerned with long hair than they are with so called game breaking mechanics.

A simple way of looking at it...one the one hand, we have a well known griefing/ganking/alternative pvp group crying about a mechanic and calling it gamebreaking...to a hostile crowd, many of whom have very little love fer said group...and expecting support on this key issue. On the other hand, we have half of this thread all agreeing that SDC have absolutely no interest in making the game any better fer anyone other than themselves...

This is priceless right here...ye couldnt make this stuff up ^

I'm sorry. Let me try and make my potion clear. And I'm sorry if this go's a little off topic but you misunderstand me.

I don't do pvp...I can't do it. I play mainly in mobius. As that's my thing. Now there's nothing saying I can't open fire on another commander, apart from the group rules. I hear SDC know all about this ;).... it was before my time tho :)

SDC play in open (I'm guessing?) Anything go's in this mode. If you play in open....then you run the risk of being attacked off other players. Full stop. Wether I agree with it or not...Wether you agree with it or not...means nothing as it's a fact.

There's pvp groups who like to fight. This is good! Organized or not...player interaction is a pluss.

What I don't like is that some players....who like pve....or are just new to the game...have no idia that player groups (group mode) can be so big...or how to find them.

Now SDC say thay don't kill new players so I'll take there word on that but there's lots who do..and that's fine. As it's open. But if your a new player...that knows nothing of the groups...this might make you want to quit the game. And we can all agree is a bad thing no?.

Please don't think I'm dissing pvp. I'm realy honestly not. All I'm saying is..

From what I can't see....this "healing op" thing came about due to some group beating SDC in a fight....and if thay hadn't had the healing beam then "thay would have had there "backsides" handed to them" or words to that affect that's said in the video.

Hope this helps

*shrugs* It's not a mockery of those 'dedicated to PvE'. I myself mostly play the environment.

Its a mockery of those who consider nonconsensual pvp to be akin to some sort of real life crime or transgression, or are taking a computer game way to seriously.

Just remember that not everyone does reddit. So a simple response here on their own forums would do wonders.

I don't do reddit...or Facebook or anything else hehe. It's ignorance on my part I must admit. I'm too old and have no one to show me. 40....Might aswell be dead lol :)

Hey, I'm right with you there. My wife says i'm anti-social... whatever. :p
Though I still don't understand why FD would respond over on reddit, and not here on their own forums about something like this.
I suppose it's possible that they're knee-deep in the 2.3 beta setup to be messing around here.
