Revisiting a years worth of Photoshop Concept's by ToCoSo

Hi all, there was a recent thread by ToCoSo, the very talented artist who puts a lot of time into proposing new game mechanics with photoshop'd screens of how they would appear on screen and sharing them on reddit to raprutous approval the communitys there.

Sadly that thread was locked and I think we need to revisit it. So this is a repost of the content of ToCoSo's post to rekindle the conversation.

The posted ideas are:
Detailed surface scanner concepts (with 4 more scans available)
Shipyard storage and module swap visualisation.
Community heat map and 'home systems'
Security system contracts visualisation with needle gun tagging and career idea.
SUV space utility vehicle concept with stripped down SRV and outpost jobs.
Game marker concept for racing, chasing and sector gameplay.
Ground based developments, home system integration and income from supporting local stations/outposts.


And I left off my first putting faces in elite post, was a lucky call!!

I'd like to see Elite development team reaction to this. "Deep, practical, funny ideas for exploration, PVP, RP, trading and economy? What is this heresy?!"
 
Yeah I really like this 1. Ground based work/career, working to upgrade base and build income, 2. Detailed Planet Scan and 3. Markers Concept for new gameplay

Its good concepts, and honestly we don't know if or if not frontier is looking at them.

The main thing we need to remember, is that it takes time and who knows how complicated it is to implement these idea's, given we players do not know what actually goes on in the codes, it could entirely be frontier has looked at these things and said "hey we can add this, this and this."

Personally I think it is 'possible' since the procedural engine 'knows' where it is valid to place certain things even if it is just approximations until you get closer, which i'd be fine with, it needs to generate the details at various levels of details.

we will see. But it would be nice to see a post from frontier at least saying "we are aware of them" or such.

But yeah remember, concept is a way easier thing to create then the actual reality of a mechanic.

FDev are currently focussing on 2.3

I don't believe to date for any suggestions made here or in the suggestion section if the forum FDev have commented.

Nor do I see any benefit for comments to be made.

If you want to push this agenda, the time to do so is post 2.3

I would also coordinate your campaign with Nutters excellent "Where is the love" meme he has proposed.

Possibly, a minor 2.3.x mini beta may occur post 2.3 which may encompass smaller tweaks that add to gameplay options, but that is wholly within the control of FDev and the post 2.3 developement cycle.

It was locked because of the offtopic bumping. I admit I was guilty of that as well.
Would be cool to hear Frontier state something with regards to these suggestions, i.e. a simple "Yes we've noticed this thread" would go a long way. Ideally they'd add some or all of it to their roadmap of course.

I have to admit, I'm getting tired of combat in Elite. At this point I'm not sure multicrew will be as fresh to me as SLFs were when they came out. This game begs to have other gameplay areas expanded upon...
