I returned a few months ago from distant worlds and sold all my exploration data. I'd assumed I'd have ranked to elite with that, but alas I was only pioneer 46%. I shrugged my shoulders and went about retrofitting my now, woefully stock, antiquated, un-engineered Anaconda with and FSD upgrade and a few other explorer tweaks unavailable to me at the time of the expedition launch. Then I decided, one of those 30 million 3000 ly trips sounds nice, I can do that in my sleep. Literally, I had dreams of honk scooping during the return home. I was flabbergasted at the huge jump in explorer rank I received when I turned it in. My thoughts mirrored the treads that I see now about the devaluation of the elite rank in exploration.
As with most problems of this nature, I can't control the external circumstances, but I can choose how I attain the final bit of rank I need to get elite. I'm heading on a trip to Sag-A since incredibly I've still never seen it. I'm going to take my time and actually explore as much as is practical on the way there and back and know that the rank was never devalued as far as I was concerned.
If as always anyone has any suggestions on points of interest I'd love to hear them. I am waiting to leave until 2.3 beta has been out for a bit just in case there might be something coming that I'd like to be here for and not halfway across the galaxy!
