Landing Pads

It don't make sense to me that docking pads can be only used by player, so when your assigned a pad as a player you get a hanger, I believe as long as your in that hanger no player can use your pad number, but the NPC can use it because all they do is just spin around and take off, which makes the game look really realistic. Also if you have a outpost that has 4 pads and 4 players dock in the outpost the 5 ship will get a message request to dock denied no landing pads available, but the station will still assign them to NPC players. Another thing too is some stations keep at least on landing pad open for people that log in as they must have a hanger/landing pad. So when you exit the game you loose your landing pad and hanger you had and it frees the pad up for other players. This makes it impossible for you to wait for the same ship to come out of the same hanger or landing pad because they could have came out of a different one if they logged off for a time.

I understood that stations were instance based and if the player load for a station was extremely high or all pads were occupied by players you would spawn an instance with fewer players when you arrived, this way the landing pad limit for bases was pretty much irrelevant as regards number of players landed at a particular station. See specially with the larger bases there's this big black hole under the arrival pad which I assume is supposed to represent a ship elevator system that stores ships in different level bays, that's why we can have 30+ ships stored at one location and not permanently fill all the landing bays.

That's my understanding anyway. I know it's still possible to be parked outside because if no available bay, specially if a player occupies the pad or docking slot, but I think you can re-log and get access that way. Maybe I'm wrong, someone will tell me If i am!
