Still excited yes Arne. :D Just disappointed this question (Pro or Std) was not answered and slightly that we have no release date (but I expected that).

HOTAS is great for the guys that want it.

If i can give you guys one advise, never hope for release dates.

Frontier is a developer that releases games, and updates when they are ready. They want to give us the best experience possible without a huge amount of beta testers, and not some half baked update, or game. And i really appreciate that.

When it releases, expect some small bug fixes and patches some weeks after.

The only hint was when they said it will ship with 2.3 and 2.4 will be a free download. So it should launch before 2.4 is released whenever that is lol :)

Sorry, honest lack of comprehension here. Are you telling us 1) "do not hope for an *imminent* release date" or 2) "do not hope for a release date fullstop. The game will be ready when it is ready, and they won't tell you when. Could be next week, could be next August"?

Sorry.

I indeed mean they wont mention a release date untill they are 100% certain they can deliver. Like, only a week notice.. lol.

I seem to remember that the XB1 version was released with very little warning, no hype, no build up...I nearly missed it :)

PS4 version looking very good though, and you get that HOTAS....I'm jealous of that.

Yeh it seems they are going low key again, which compared with something like NMS might be the better option. I was expecting a lot more ED PS4 from PAX to be honest.

I have a funny feeling that he was just deliberately dropping some red herrings. They have to for stock market rules etc
A joint release at same time as 2.3 would be a very nice surprise ;)

Don't get me excited like this, excitement only leads to disappointment, disappointment leads to the dark side. ;)

As much as I would like a joint release, I would suspect it depends who has control within Frontier at the moment.

If it is the financial bean counters - It'll be a joint release - get the PS4 money coming in as soon as possible
If it is either the developers or marketeers - It'll be a split release - for developers to de-risk the deployment and marketeers to allow a double publicity spike.

for once, I hope that the bean counters are calling the shots. I would prefer a 99% working PS4 ED over a 100% delayed game. I can live with a couple of problems if FDev is working to fix them.

There is a difference between who is the majority share holder and who has the power.
In my opinion, within big business these days, Security (how do you prevent your code being hacked maliciously) and Finance (how do you show that you are making money) have disproportionately powerful positions.

Whilst waiting for a game release that does have an announced release timetable (although broad) you are now arguing about who controls the company because that will/might/may have a bearing on when the game gets released?

Over on the PC side they sell tin-foil hats. I'd get one!

We've been chatting on this forum regularly for over a month now. Not being able to play the game, after some time you just run out of things to discuss!
