Your favorite ship skin?

Why this decal is your favorite ? The numbering of the spaceships (in this survey) is 1 to 16, from left to right and top to bottom.

If I'm honest, I was a tad suprised when I saw these, as some of them seem a little over the top.

However, some of them I think are very nice.

Number 9 is my favourite, the animal prints remind me of the Elite sequels so are also very welcome.

I love black (#6), it just so damn sexy. But all they are done well. I easily see myself spending some cash on some good looking ship skin.

These are great. I am hoping for a little more customisation on top of the skins. A selection of roundels, go faster stripes, flames, whatever and our ship's name (variety of fonts and colours) that we are free to position anywhere, within reason.

Black seems to be the new, uh, black.

In space, no one can hear you scream as you see the paintwork of other ships (unless you left the comms open).

I want something different, perhaps strobe-style?

I'm guessing black is getting a lot of love because of it (probably) making you a harder target/less visible, rather than aesthetics. Although it does look pretty bad-ass.

I'm sticking with voting for number 1, although I'd like to change the light blue for red ideally

I chose 15 as I'm a sucker for a little bit of patriotism sometimes. What would be better however would be a decal in the style of the Red Arrows hawk jet livery.

Then I just need to find a few people to start a formation flying display team.

I was kinda hoping for feathers design. And I'd be happier with the black if it had a spray of white dots on it, and a sign which said "Don't bother looking here. There's nothing to see."

Because you go in the jungle, I can't see you. You know, it's like wearing stripes and plaid. For me, I want to do something different. You know, you go in the jungle, make a statement. If you're going to fight, clash. You know what I mean?

I'm not a fan of the Flag ones. IMHO, why would a person sport the flag of a 1000 year old country on their ship? I'd stay away from religious and national symbolism.

The other decals are very pretty. I wonder how they will implement us being able to design our own? Paint a skin in some proprietary software (Photoshop for example) or an in-game 'paint-shop' type of thing? That would be a mini-game in itself.

If I remember right in the original Sims game they released a standalone program where you could introduce jpegs and bitmaps and create your own pictures, wallpapers and carpets etc. I really hope we get the chance to do that with Elite...

Being a pom in NZ, I would love the Union Jack (St georges better but thats probably not pc ) but on a white painted ship. That would look superb!

I hope Great Britain is still around then. Unless there would be a single flag to represent Earth? I rather like the notion of there still being people in that time that have an archaic view of things and still pledge allegiance to the old world countries.
