why 1000ly cap needs increasing

plotting a journey in real life is not limited by distance so why in the game do you cap us to 1000 ly this makes it hard to plot the journey like with passenger missions please increase this i should only be limited to what my ship can do

this is why we have faulscoops

I believe it's a technical limitation.

I assume it's not one that's particularly hard to overcome I bet it's just way down the list.

My guess is there was some problem that the cap was a quick fix for a problem that's just not been deemed important enough for a better fix.

How onerous is it to replot every 1000 ly, how long does it take you to fly 1000 ly anyway?

the route plotter has already a lot of poblems plotting around the core and other high density star regions. increased jumprange via engineers adds to that. with 2000 or 20 000 ly you might end with a routeplotting time of hours ...

If you remember it was introduced in the early days for performance reasons. And yes near the hub it could take hours.
At one time in Beta it was only 100 Ly

I dont have a problem with the limit. I would like a real plotting system. As on, I draw a line to where I want to go. Then the map adjusts the line to hit the jumps.
