Which Tracker is "best"?

Thanks, good video.

Isn't it awkward to be looking through the corner of your eye when you turn your head? And does it take time to get used to movement scaling?
It is at first, but after a while you don't even think about it. A few minutes for some, a bit longer for others, but sooner or later it becomes natural. :)

And you can adjust how much you have to turn your head, via the software, so if you want you can turn your head just a little and have your in-game head turn 180°. :D

Oh, and you're welcome.

Is anyone here going to Lavecon tomorrow?
If so, see you there!

I think there will be various head tracking solutions on show.

I have a Track IR and would never fly without it now. At first I also thought that Track IR would mean having to almost squint out of the corner of your eye, but that is simply not the case. I have never got eyestrain with Track IR and within a day of using it, I was keeping track of Fokker Eindekkers and Me 109s with the greatest of ease!

Just as I was catching up on this thread...the post arrived. EDTracker ordered yesterday...arrived today. Can't complain at that!

Thanks dead fred, brumster and pocketmoon for the development of it. And dead fred for the speedy delivery! :D

Hopefully I should be able to try it soon...ferocious headaches notwithstanding!

Nope. It needs resetting every 30 minutes or so, but that's apparently very simple to do.

Not really the case any more, with the self-centering code in V2.9 I personally don't need to reset it at all any more. I guess YMMV but this is the general feedback to date.

Hi brumster.

I received mine today (mucho thanks to you guys). Can you tell me what USB connector that is on it? I thought I had them all but apparently I don't. It looks like a Micro-B but I'd like to confirm before buying.

EDIT: OK, not like a micro-b according to PC World.

Thanks.

I think brumster and all involved with EDTracker deserve a huge amount of kudos for getting the thing to where it is, and offering gamers a great cheap solution to head tracking.

IMO the more people use head tracking, in whatever form (including OR albeit a different kind of gaming interface) the better. For certain games the difference between using it, and not, is huge.

Tip - try using it on racing games that support head tracking also, and use the in cockpit view. Bloomin brilliant!

Taken enough time for it to really take off (excuse the pun), for so long developers ignored it completely, mostly due to the console dominance on the market, but glad it is getting a new lease of life recently.

And for those who worry about ye olde myth (looking too far away from the monitor), imagine your looking at someone straight on, and shake your head a small amount while keeping eye contact....its that easy!

Again, well done brumster and the EDTracker team!

Agreed about racers - being able to properly see the apex of a corner makes a huge difference.

And for those who worry about ye olde myth (looking too far away from the monitor), imagine your looking at someone straight on, and shake your head a small amount while keeping eye contact....its that easy!

That sums it up perfectly!

How does the ED Tracker fit onto your headphones?

However you want...rubber bands, cable ties, chewing gum (probably not). You also need to run the usb cable down the headphone wire.

EDIT: We just need someone to design and 3D print a little case for it. :D

I've said it before in the other threads but a big thankyou to THIS community too for supporting it. It really wouldn't have taken off without you guys. The encouragment, the support, the understanding, the shared knowledge, etc.

It's honestly just been *fun* to do :) the fact that it enhances the game for you guys in a cost-effective way is great ;)

edit: and I'm sure I speak for Dorian and Rob in saying that; this is very much an "equal partnership" with them, and I in no way accept the glory for it!
