Here is some PS4 footage . Looking good!

Looking forward to another "There goes the PC version" thread! :D

Sorry, couldn't resist! ;)

On a more serious note, I'm thinking of getting a PS4 at some point in the near future. If I do, I may be tempted to get another ED account and start anew, so I'll be watching development closely. :)

Seeing as Frontier have not released any version of the PS4 game, I'd be VERY interested in where he got this claimed PS4 game from!

Its definitely a console version, the SLF transition screen gives it away (little square blocks, the PC version doesn't seem that have those weirdly). I doubt GameSpot would be lying, but then again who knows.

I expect Frontier recorded the footage on their behalf as they tested it. It's not uncommon for Frontier to have both public & press only areas at these events. Michael Gapper tends to host private press testing sessions and I noticed him in the background talking to Sandy on one of the live streams so he was definitely at Pax.

Good find. Having played the original the one thing I'm confident will be just like riding a bicycle will be combat because it looks exactly like the original. Keep the target above the center of the radar, speed up, slow down, shoot.

The rest of the game will be a lot to learn. I have no idea how to outfit a ship or which ships do what but combat is something I'll feel right at home with.

It indeed IS PS4 gameplay, what i find funny is that the SLF is loading like 5 times faster as on XboxOne. This is the same loading time as on PC.

So, i think that this is "fighter training" (Not in the realtime galaxy gameplay.)

I think the "Destroy Enemy Ships" at the beginning suggests so yes, on the Xbox how much faster is that training mission to deploy a fighter compared to in the actual game? That may give a better indication of speed.

Hence my post above, how much better performance do you see on the training videos vs the real game?

I watched some PC versions of this training mission and it appears to be the same loading time (graphics quality of course better on the PC).

There might be some improvements in next Xbox build of the game though, so its hard to compare. I believe this demo is already one of the newer builds that we dont have on xboxOne.

Launching a fighter now in XboxOne can be painfully slow the first time, specially if you hear "ship under attack" lol. But once you deployed once, the next time goes much faster.

Gameplay it self is pretty similar if you compare training missions and the real game, so this is a good indication it will run very smooth on PS4. Its loading the other assets that is slowing down the real game bit, but once they are loaded, it runs smooth. But i doubt this is due to hardware and optimization. Loading panels, other ships, mission board is all done form the server, so any delay in that, isn't caused by hardware limitations. ( i think )

Pretty sure this (from the end of the vid) would confirm it is the training...
