Mass Effect 4

All the criticism has me worried somewhat. I don't really care much about bad facial animations, weird body proportions (DA: O is terrible in that regard) and poor writing (SJW agenda accusations).

If there's good gameplay, character building and exploration I'll like it, I got over 200 hours in DA:I so...:p

Totally agree. Skyrim from a technical perspective is a very bad game: bugs, poor animations, extremely bad physics, lousy main story etc... But I can wander the world for hours and hours and 6 years later I still find new things to explore.

This uses the frostbite 3 engine which at least in BF1 produces very decent animations. I'd be disappointed if Bioware couldn't make satisfactory use of it in that regard. But then it's a huge game and maybe that's not so important...what is important is decent story and writing alongside good exploration that they've trouted on about recently. A rehash of old ground ala ME 1 and 2 is not what I'd like to see.

I've never played ME, but just watched the trailers above and some of it looks interesting. Question though: Is everything in 3rd person perspective? That could kill it for me as I prefer 1st person in games like this.

Mass Effect games were always from 3p (only aiming through the scope is like fp) but don't let it discourage you. ME serie is all about the story and characters.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about that. As 3rd person games go this franchise uses it amongst the best as far as gameplay goes.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.

I've thoroughly enjoyed all of the ME games so far, despite their flaws. (No game is perfect anyway). I plan on playing this one for sure.

Footage from PAX East.

Some funny moments there, more lighthearted than previous ME.

I don't preorder games often, but, when I do, it's Mass Effect Andromeda!

In my case it's more along the lines of

"I don't preorder games often, but when I do, it's X-Rebirth. I no longer preorder anything"

Keeping an eye in ME:A, but will probably wait until all the DLC has been released before picking it up.

Anybody else a little shocked by the system requirements... EA state an i7-4790 with gtx1060 as the minimum required to run at 1080p@30fps!

Now I don't know about anyone else, but to me 30fps simply isn't acceptable anywhere, ever. If a system can only hit 30fps it is the same as not being able to run the game.

I'm running an i7-4790 with a gtx1070, but only being about 40-45% faster than a 1060 i doubt I'll be able to hit 60fps :(

Ah well, I'll find out in 2 days when the early access hits.

I just hope it looks AWESOME for those specks....

I'm very excited for this game...

I dont care for 30FPS, I do care for optimization. Not very impressed so far with other FB games. Will wait for user reviews...

That's dissapointing, although, i did delve into spoiler territory and watch the first hour play through by IGN, from what I saw it's fine, at least it's along the lines of what I'd expect from a mass effect game. Nothing revolutionary but not utter bilge either.

Most if not all of the criticisms in that article could be levelled at the previous 3 games as well.

You can try the first 10hours of the game out for free with origin access (ea access on console) from tomorrow, just sign up for the free 7 day trial. Don't forget to cancel at the end of the 7 days though, or they'll charge you £3.99 per month.
