Cargo transfer

I'm just wondering if people would be interested in being able to leave cargo in the ship your storing?

Say I'm collecting stuff for engineering and I want to store my python for my fdl for some hunting I can't cos I have no cargo space in my combat ships so I have to sell the stuff I've collected or don't change ships

I'm sure people would be interested in buying a cheep cargo ship and using it for storage

Hey, I bought a 2nd Account to be able to do that !

i suggest a forum search. brought up many times, with many pros and cons. FDEV have stated to include a cargo storage at engineer bases at some time in the future. till at least than you don't need commodities for any blueprints.

The inability to carry mods around, store cargo and swap ship when cargos in it is daft as he..ck and really narks me off. So im interested.

Just like having to accept a mission in the ship you want to use otherwise the cargo gets stuck in your other ship and you cant swap it.

Now that I`m getting into Cargo work myself, I`m defintely missing having any kind of place to store cargo for a while. Actually seems like a huge thing for the Devs to miss. A business cargo enterprise with nowhere to store any surplus for later, not even in a spare ship?

Hmmm...

i would love to store 100 - 10 000 tons of painite, so i can sell them whenever a minor faction i back needs an influence buff, without leaving the station.

or store a broad variety of mining ore, so i can finish mining missions when they pop up. store high demand commodities and wait for fetch missions to finish them without leaving the station...

i also would like to store some hundred to several thousand tons of narcotics, and other illegal goods at enemy bases, so i can trigger bust and nuke their influence whenever i feel like it, without leaving the station.

while i personally would love that kind of gameplay (seriously), i can clearly see why FDEV are not going there.

the economy/"economy", especially in low-population systems, as well as the mission generatorisn't set up for it.

the proposed workaround for cargo storage at engineer bases sounds okay for me... if it ever happens.

Or store a T9 full of Slaves, travel in your Asp to a system where they are illegal, then transfer the T9

People expect these little QoL things to be easy, but they have consequences

I can see abuse like that happening it could be fixed by not being able to transfer a ship with cargo or store the cargo at the station like mods you can have your python but it'll be empty

I had to sit in my ship for nearly a week cos a friend wanted some of my cargo for an engineer but he was on his way back from the new bubble

Well obviously they`d be a limit. Just like in real life! Further, some items could be perishable and there could even be a continous storage fee- like in reality.

Seriously. Somebody already said it could be scanned and checked before leaving, no Silent Running in this case. Get your contraband confiscated plus your ship and a big fine on you.

The reason i didn`t mention these things was because I thought you people here would figure that out- And I`m prettty certain the Devs could.

no there is to many ways it could be abused as a couple have been mentioned in this thread, This has been discussed many times and I do ask the mods lock this thread as a duplicate many times over

I only asked a simple question. It's simple to stop abuse as is also mentioned above I.e. scans before transfer and storage limits

Oh and if the question has been asked so many times your requesting a "lock" that only shows how many people legitimately want the feature and don't see a problem with being able to leave crap in your car when you park it up for the weekend that's basically all I want to do

I see no reason to store commodities (except to play the market) and we can already store equipment, so ...

Just like having to a
ccept a mission in the ship you want to use otherwise the cargo gets stuck in your other ship and you cant swap it.

Now this, well I believe missions should be tied to the pilots account and not the ship. It's silly to take a job/mission in a ship to realize you'd better to use a different ship and not be able to.

I would love for you to be able to do this as well, and so would I.

But to keep this sort of game non-play from being really viable, I propose a fee on each ton of stored goods, as well as a limited storage capacity.
