It is a God mod! So where is fun in that, there is no skill in it. It isn't combat, it's execution!
It's Elite. You are trying to get fun where ever you can.

Was engaging in the lastest bounty cg and decided to indulge in some mobius shenanigans. Winged up with another ananconda cmdr and headed off to the nearest hazres. Not long after getting there another cmdr turns up in an engineered corvette, and thats when things got fun.
No ship could withstand the combined dps output of 23 modified hardpoints. Nothing compares to watching pirate scum pop one by one within seconds of eachother. I think us 3 have this cg in the bag![]()
If you really want fun, do the following;
1) Carry cargo
2) Join PowerPlay
3) Head to a high security nav beacon
4) Let Pirates Scan you, then murder them.
5) Find PowerPlay Ships, and Murder them.
6) Murder the Bounty Hunters that scan you.
7) Murder the Security that come.
You can basically agro the entire beacon.
It's hilarious. I did it in my Anaconda alone.![]()
My Anaconda isn't super modified.Fully engineered Anaconda? If so, that's quite telling. If a player can't do that in an unmodified smaller ship, then having to rely on Engineers to balance combat in order to survive is not fun.![]()
OP: Hey man, I've got my god-mode modded god-mode ship and I'm with two other god-mode ships in the RES playing god-mode! This game rocks!
You: Yeah, that's why this game sucks, dude.
As much as I respect your negative opinion on existing game mechanics, I don't see why OP's happy post is a place to go voicing them. OP is happy and having fun. Let him be happy and have fun.
I just don't like the carebear mentality personally. I play only in Open cause I want a DANGEROUS universe, so every time I see Mobius I chuckle at the carebear mlp friendship group.
But back on topic and to re-iterate my statement. No NPCs are currently challenging at all. Hopefully this changes with the Thargoids (at least if they are going to be lore accurate) in that we get our rear ends kicked hard. But right now unless you're new to the game (at which point its understandable), none of the NPCs are hard save maybe a few ELITE ranked ones IF you don't have engineering. But once your ship is even half-engineered it's so obscenely overpowered vs NPCs that it's a joke if you lose somehow to one.

This is the problem, RNGineers has totally broken the game balance
FD can't buff the NPCs too much because we all share the same game world, horizons and non Horizons players together.
If FD buff the NPCs then it makes it harder for Engineered players, but almost impossible for non Engineers players.
There's no way to fairly balance it now.
FD have messed up big time.
It is easy to fix it, removing weapon and shield engineering and making npc more dangerous.
You see NPC's are spawn according to players combat rank, so if you're elite rank game will spawn elite NPC. So it has nothing to do with horizons, it will spawn npc according to your rank and even ship size.
If you can outmanoeuvre even an Elite NPC's turning, and they cannot pull you into a game of reverski, you win. That's it. My iCourier can sit on the inside of an Elite 'conda, thrusting downwards, and just hammer the daylight out of its PP. The other problem we have is that even Elite level NPCs are really restricted on what mods they get.
I know we're going a bit off topic, but your iCourier ought to be able to sit on the inside of an Elite 'conda. Given good piloting skills on the part of the smaller, more agile vessels, larger ships like condas, corvettes, cutters, etc should have to rely heavily on turreted weapons and small escorts to target the smaller guys.
you can always downgradetake an eagle! eagles + winging up in haz res = amazing.
The issue I have here is not related to ships but AI ability. We're talking the "most skilled" pilots in the galaxy - and they're happy to have their PP mashed provided you are moving fast enough to best their pitching. Why are the most skilled pilots in the galaxy not going "yeah nice try mate, seen that before", and boosting away from me to push me into the open?
The Op has fun doing stuff, so the Forum Anti Fun Police , the dreaded FAFP, turn up in great numbers to break it up immediately.
I used to do that, without sheilds in wings.
Still doesn't cover up a poorly balanced game.
