QUESTIONS WANTED: Elite Dangerous 2.3 Q&A Livestreams

Question: With the controversy of ship design nerfing, hidden diminishing return formulas and the like trying to address engineered shield boost stacking and upsetting lots of players, especially veterans - Wouldn't it be easier to simply remove or re-design engineering mods for Shield Boosters instead?

Re: the engine trail colours that I believe are due to be added as cosmetic store items, any chance of getting Reaver like dirty billowing plumes of smoke, preferably so mucky that 2 or 3 such ships could fill a coriolis with smoke?

It was game play reasons. It was always envisioned that it was supposed to be a commander flying his ship in dangerous galaxy. If you were you able to put the NPC crew in the pilot seat while you are in the Gunnery chair, then that would turn the game from Elite, which works best in 1st person view, to something like Freelancer or Starfox, which works best in 3rd person view.
For the non-Multicrew, they wanted to retain that 1st person feel.

At some point will we get an update on the future major development aspirational goals for Elite Dangerous please? (like for the kick-starter) . No details, timelines.... or no ETA and no guarantee!

Could we have an option to make the info and comms graphics at the top of the screen fade to dissappear please (all of it), when not in use. Would make ed even more pretty I think .

Is there an alien war or the horizon ;-) ... Will make great multicrew co-op.

Idea/question: sure you have thought of this. But for the future, it would be amazing to have parts of the ship perhaps failing (as they do now) but it would be possible to repair them with space legs during a multicrew. Would be epic, leaving the controls, fixing and racing back again.

And similar ideas for eva, but perhaps with more time.

Thats even before combative boarding of other ships or leaving the ship.

Do we have anyone on staff that specifically works on gameplay as a priority, and not a secondary project?

No more Exterior Warp Shots!!! Camera suite removing ability's to film live on the fly, more like a screen shot suite! Help Please!

So far my largest interest in 2.3 is the camera suite.

I guess Frontier just added a recent patch to the camera suite! It now removed the ability to capture video or scenes of a ship jumping into hyperspace from outside the cockpit! honestly this is another blow to the ability to film on the fly and its removing a chance at some really cool shots! I personally work the debug cam like no other, or i think so doing all kinds of cool shots. I use all of these things to live stream my videos,
I love the look of hyperspace from outside the cockpit!! it is going to making my video shooting sorta boring when i jump into my real cockpit ive built for my show! if frontier keeps removing things that we have had, It concerns me? I Have been making and learning how to shoot my show and I Believe this helped me make it cooler,But now we are losing things with every camera change.

This is something that is stripping the ability to stream on the fly, without having Cut shots that need edited later.

These things have been the bases of all my live streamed shows now for a year! Is there any way to not take this ability, when it goes to warp! I think it looks really cool as in my shots Below.

Right now you no longer get to see the hyper tunnel ramp up and it jumps really
hard to the cockpit interior and is Jerky an a lil less fun.

Please, please, please, Frontier, Dont take this away I use it a lot in my shows! Yes i know im begging! im starting to get desperate.

Here is a link to another post I made, that I believe has more info on a study I made trying to get the new suite to work for on the fly filming without having to edit later. my post explains issues ideas and maybe a bug or two I found wile working on this.

please any word on it would be appreciated.

The new suite

Should possibly have a Center camera button
- we should be able to Enter the cam suite, centered over the top of the ship like in old debug camera mode. this would make it easier to locate your ship for on the fly camera shots? Now it’s locked directly to the ship in full view, this dose not allow you to start filming, say a planet or nebula by itself before seeing your ship.
centered just above the ships cockpit gives us this choice.

For switching cameras could we Have a selection to toggle a transition fader with a duration setting in milliseconds. This would be nice to have for when the cameras reset to their default start location so it will not snap super fast to that point but will graduate over time in milliseconds from one cam position to another? This would allow for a nicer transition between Cams. This would be Good for "on the fly" transition of shots.

Can Toggle Camera suite have an additional drop down SUB category of (pre-defined camera start locations to pick from) if this could be chosen. we could customize are own start location for the individual cameras.

AlexBrentnall (Forums): Could Frontier (maybe after the Q&A livestream) publish a list of the things that are considered placeholders or desired areas for development? This could be done without spoiling anything or promising anything but would give players an idea of what areas are planned to be improved down the line and presumably allow us to both speculate and suggest. (Chrizhanna: Could FDev do a mini-Kickstarter aspirational goals type thing, no details no timelines)

They are highly unlikely to answer any story questions in these Q&As to be honest, I can add it if you like but I'd bet my Anaconda all you'll get is "no comment".

I can add this if you like but the way that a question was answered on the last livestream made it sound like spacelegs and being able to walk around was a long long way off like season 4 or later so I don't think it's really useful asking it right now... This was answered in the last livestream. No there is no limit. Multicrew will work galaxy wide from Beagle Point to Sol if you want it to.

Classic Debug Cam Vs. Camera suite
Please, will we get the option to select the classic debug cam or the new Camera Suite if we choose it from within the options menu?
This would be a great feature and would give us the ability to film movie style on on the fly reality TV style.

So a few answers here: I think the old debug cam is gone and it's just the new camera suite now

CMDR Elvintree (ForumsQ&A thread): Has any thought been given to a "store view" function so we can quickly swap between a specific camera and normal flying instead of re-setting the camera up each time we activate/deactivate?

There's alot of inconsistency on our records of barnacles locations and other sites.
Could we have something on the verbose netlog, so that when we scan a barnacle we get a set of coordinates (consistent for every CMDR).
This way the same barnacle won't have multiple coordinates as interpreted by multiple CMDRs.

During the beta for 2.2.03 it was mentioned that the big 3 would be getting an increase to their hull amount. Will they be receiving this in 2.3?

From what I've seen of the beta videos; plasma accelerators can wipe 50% of your shields with one shot and shield boosters are nerfed. How is this in any way "balanced"? More like open season for the NPCs onthe big ships.
 
Question: Currently the Anaconda is the only ship in the game with advanced damage models. Can you say anything about why other ships don't have them and when they might get them?

There's a question and answer below, but Im not sure they're entirely related? Seems the answer is more to do with not allowing NPC crew to pilot the ship?
