BGS noob question

I know killing ships lowers faction's influence but about how much. Will killing 1 ship cause a 1% drop in influence or is it more/less.

Also, iv heard selling on the black market lowers the controlling faction influence level. Does this apply to anarchy? Reason I ask is Iv been keeping tabs on a couple systems where people have been abandoning missions and pouring thousands of slaves onto the BM for weeks. So far iv only seen an increase in the controlling faction's influence.

Depends on the size (population) of the system and the traffic (aka possible other players actions).
Best would be to keep track of your actions, then you'll have a conclusion and get a feeling for how much effort is needed to reach the wanted effect.

There's a maximum influence drop (or gain) that depends on the size of the system. What's the population?

As for selling on the BM, yes, this even works in anarchies (although one wonders why the "black market" isn't just the "market" in anarchy-controlled stations. It's not a simple 1t = 1 point drop relationship either. I think there were changes made to how abandoning missions and selling the items on the black market affects the factions, as this was a popular exploit used in Robigo for massive no-work profits. They're also probably doing it wrong.

The population of a system I'm looking to turn Anarchy is around 3-4 million. My Anarchy faction currently holds 8% influence ( I think it will be going to war soon as another faction also holds 8%, I intend to help it win). The controlling faction holds 57%. I don't think it's a popular player system, because according to the traffic report only 20 ships passed through today.
