Are there new srv's in the pipeline?

As the title says do we know if there are more srv's being developed?

We know there's more ships to come but how about our humble little dune runner is it going to get others in its family?

do we want more variants of the srv and if so what would you like to see brought in?

one possible variant is a mining srv in the shape of a towed module which would take up a garage slot of its own, the module would be a mobile refinery doing all that a ship based refinery does and would open up true surface mining.

any other variants people can think of that they would like to see introduced?

oh and this could also open up a whole new branch of engineers just think of all the fun that will bring [squeeeee].

anyway just an idea do with it as you see fit

i do hope so

after all, i am still trying to find out why the dropship is named dropship, if it has nothing special about it to drop (except shields every few minutes)

i want to see SCV's (surface combat vehicles) that require a restriced slot that only a few ships have.

One can only hope.

An armored combat SRV woud be nice. You could load it out with various hardpoint options, even SSMs and SAMs.

A ground miner would be nice.

Ooh - a repair SRV or SRV module, for surface repair missions?

What else folks?

Something really fast for racing. Perhaps it hovers. In fact I'd quite like it if racing was developed a bit as a thing. Pre-created race tracks in set locations. Big prizes for winners. The ability to lay markers and improvise with your friends.

I would give a kidney for this one:

I would love a SRV (SPEEDY RACING VEHICLE)!!!

So far Frontier has almost always followed up on their initial plans as sketched in the early concept artworks. Based on this assumption, I bet that 1) yes, we will most definitely see different SRVs, and that 2) they will look something like this (from the artwork book)

Scavenging SRV,

Bigger cargo hold and turretted mining laser, equipped with refinery and scanner... And mineable planets of course :)

Edit: exactly the one above my post :D

In one of the live streams Sandro answered this question. He said something like, new SRV's will be added but only once there is meaningful gameplay to support it.

So there you go... :)

Flimley

The art book has a ton of concepts for different SRVs. So yeah, sooner or later. Probably when there's new gameplay to go along with them.

Mining/Refinery SRV and one which can hold more cargo. And fuzzy dice. It needs to have fuzzy dice.

Hard to imagine how that would fit in any (current) vessel. Does any craft have a door/hatch through which it could deploy? Unless it's the signature feature of the Panther Clipper? :) Otherwise, maybe you can just sling it underneath?

Well ships with Fighter Bays have that large door on the bottom so maybe they can hover and drop it off?
