I think in these dark days the world needs a global TV series about Dutch court cases. Two favourites of mine:
1) A local farmer in Groningen filed his tax returns, and included profits gained by illegally growing pot. He paid taxes on the incomes of his employees, provided healthcare, paid for the machinery and electricity etc. Dutch IRS passed it on to legal, who sued the farmer. Judge ruled that Dutch pot laws are so bizarre (coffee shop can sell pot but not buy it or own any reasonable quantity etc), and the man did all the right things morally, that police should just get lost.
2) Police arrested a man in Brabant for having his entire garden filled with cannabis plants. They ripped them all out and burned it, and gave the man a fine. The man pressed charges against the police. Judge ruled that the man was correct: we are legally allowed to own five plants, and there is no legal limit to the
size of the plants. Outdoors these plants can get humongeous. Police was ordered to refund the man for the
street value of the pot.
