Elite Dangerous 2.3 Beta Q&A Part 2 - Tuesday 21st March 7PM - Your Questions Needed

Thanks to Ed and Sandro for tonight's stream and the one from PAX. Both very thorough, interesting, and thanks for answering all three of the questions I submitted. Glad you liked the suggestions.

Thanks also to Alex for organising the Q&A thread which is a hugely impressive achievement and already proving very useful for looking back on what topics were covered.

Looking forward to the next one!

3 key announcements I took from it:
Full CG in April in Colonia (Not expansion initiative)
Hopefully it's not a "flying from bubble to Colonia" CG, but actually in-system, and improves things like Shipyards and module availability.

So I got a shout out (9:30 in), sadly a bit unclear: if Sandro meant nothing has changed, that may be true, but means you still need to either instance with someone, or friend them, to then block them.

EDIT: I think my name tickled him again at 57:43 :D

I think I'm going to get Sandro saying my name in the stream as a gif for my avatar. Pity gifs don't support sound. Meep.

I enjoyed the stream a lot. It would be great to have the questions captioned on the screen since Sandy rattles them off so fast sometimes I don't hear all of the actual question he is then answering. But I know they are trying to get through as many as possible at the same time.

Seeing the questions that will be answered in advance of the next Q&A would be great though. If not on the actual screen during the stream, then perhaps a forum post copy of Sandy's printed list?

Right here bud. Update coming in about 8 hours when I finish work, check post #4 for how that will look. I tend to get the basics of the question down as if I were typing word for word it'd take forever.

Great stream!

I think the idea for another one is also brill!

I won't submit any questions next time as I think I had 3 read out...

Eh keep going, as long as the questions are good questions then I want them. :)

I genuinely enjoy the Q&As because whilst I have quite a few questions about the game there's always tons of people the come in and say something where I sit and think to myself: "Of course, thats so obvious and now I want to know an answer to that too".
Also it's great because the Devs directly hear what we are interested in, what we are concerned about and what information people want to know.

Even if Sandro couldn't answer the Hardware support or Visual Design questions he knows there are quite a few people that want information on that stuff so maybe we'll get some feedback on that soon.

Finally I think it was clear there was a team effort at FDev to get Sandro some cheat sheet answers to some of the questions there. Clearly there'd been some prep work in the background and just big applause to them.

Thanks to the Lave Radio boys ...

Not only that but no hangover either ... result!

Thx for the link!

Sad to see that from this link nothing related to the state of multicrew and gunner role needs a lot of fixes to be efficient.... Same thing, got no feedback from Devs in the feedback thread of multicrew (where some really good feedback have been made)....
The number of "no comment", "no ETA", "no guaranties", "don't know" leaves me quite disturbed too

I call that "expectation management". It is far too easy to get burned by making "promises" you later end up not being able to keep-like the original release schedule for Season 2 ;).

I quite enjoyed yesterdays Q&A.
Sure there was plenty of the standard "don't know" "can't say" "no guarantees" answers, but that's to be expected. There were still plenty of interesting answers.
Plus I enjoyed Ed's "let's keep Sandro happy" format. With the cookies and pictures and whatnot. All good fun.
Thanks again Sandy and Ed. :)

Decided to do a wordle of Sandy's (admittedly transcribed) responses (I blame the hangover) ...

Turns out we need to call him: Sandy "no comment at the moment" Sammarco.

This is so cool! I like how the word 'reasons' appear floating alone, all by it self, as in... 'reasons'.

:D

What got me was how the word "Sandy" just appeared off to the side all by itself. I didn't do that manually, I just stepped through a few random wordle generation patterns and this one popped up on the 3rd or 4th attempt!
