So is everybody who jokingly responds to nonsense triggered now?

Yeah you cant make lighthearted comments... it shows a deep psychological issue based on..

Whoops, nearly did it myself there

Nope. Not at all. I just find it hillarious that people need to draft some sort of coffee shop psychology essay to explain away why people in a game where we have gun mounts on our ship might want to use them against other players.

Easy solution would be to not reply on threads which hold no interest to you personally. I dont reply on any the pvp threads because I have zero interest in the game they play, and Im way more chilled out because of it...ye should try it sometime. Lower blood pressure and a much more light hearted attitude come as standard ^

I see just as many people getting around in Mobius as I do in open, probably more actually. Sorry Agony Aunt for blocking that pad the other week, I was in galaxy map. [squeeeee]

Few months ago i tested it. In Open in most popular places was around three times more players.

Even with my timezone and latency (to most players) working against me, I encounter plenty of people in Mobius. Not only in systems with notable features either, but in random systems around the bubble as well.

If Frontier released statistics I wouldn't be at all surprised to discover that the number of concurrent players in Mobius rivals open.

How did ye achieve this? With a mk1 eyeball by any chance? How doid ye count the pg? Only FD can count those unless you have a different approach?

Edit...this got ninjad...still curious to know how though ^

It's a pretty safe bet to say around any CG there's going to be commanders, be that in open / Mobius / random PG / Solo. Doesn't matter how many or who has more .. what matters is if you are enjoying yourself.

  • Open for the challenge of being ganked
  • Mobius (or other PG) for comradeship
  • Solo for yourself

Each to their own ..

It's still a necro thread by Mobius himself though ...

Oh jesus.. none of this matters.

To the psychology major on the last page: I grief people on occasion. I also work for the government and am the HMFIC of a reliability and maintainability analysis team for multiple aircraft. I also supervise the safety and safe actions for my sector of the base I work on and am currently raising two kids and trying to keep a dying dog happy in his last few cancer ridden months.

Quit trying to analyze why a griefer does what he or she does. All you're doing, and I mean all of you, is creating more salt, making everything taste better.

Mobius is huge, I'm legit proud that they're opening a third group. It shows players taking initiative to get what they want out of this game. I'll never try to infiltrate and cause havoc but hell, I may join up once I make my way back to the bubble just to see what all the fuss is about.

As for being better? That's entirely subjective and really can only be evaluated on a case by case basis. To each their own.

Simple subjective observation by pure eye.

I logged in to Mobius group at the evening few times a week, then to open and observe how many players i can see. It was stations at cg, supercruise at cg, ruins, popular systems like founders world etc.
In all cases there was the same observation. On the same hour in same place, around three times more players were in Open. I did it more on less on half a year period. I was just curious.

This is simple method and anyone can try it.

Mk1 eyeball then...gotcha ^

Whats worse, necroing a thread or keeping the necored thread alive by posting in it?

Would those who complain about necroing threads be more happy if the one who necroed a thread would have started a new one?

Questions, questions and more questions.

Ok, so. There were 3x as many people in Open as in Mobius... (you didn't say which Mobius group, so I'll assume the original).
Since Mobius PVE has about the same numbers, that would lower the ratio to 1.5x
The other Mobius group is new, so is probably insignificant.

What this says is that if you assume that all PVE players are in Mobius, then Mobius groups account for approximately 40% of all players.
If at a guess, all other PvP only groups total about the same as one of the Mobius groups, then PvE gets to between 50 and 60%
With some of them being rather large (eg Hutton Truckers) I'd suggest that the PvE estimate is low and it's probably between 60% and 70% in PGs

And none of this takes account of solo players.

I'd just be happy with the forum ruleset being applied universally to all.

A few weeks back.we had some pvp piracy thread necros which were jumped on and locked for necro-ing, whereas usual a pve thread carries on unmoderated.

Call me all the names.under the sun you want, triggered.or what not, but I have always been ofthe belief that if there are.rules we should all adhere to them, particularly on a discussion forum.

I think Mobius is a good thing. Even though the pvper will try and distract this thread, I think Mobius shows the need for a pve server. But thats for another topic

Can't stress this often enough: Why is it possible to block a pad in open where it's not in solo?
That's not in line with the otherwise strict consistency between the modes wherever possible.
My stance on this is that pads, once docked, shouldn't block anyone in any mode.

I think that it's just because unless the commander logs out, the ship is still underneath in the workshop.
If someone else landed there, then it would block said commander from returning to the surface and launching. No prizes for guessing how long that would take to be exploited, and the rivers of salt it would cause. Far safer to mark it occupied til the commander takes off or logs out.

Don't care for open anymore, play in mobius as it's more fun in my opinion, that's why FD should make a Open PVE mode.

And it has nothing to do with a safe place.

That is one of the many reasons why I prefer solo (and not even groups like Mobius).
I very much like the side-seeing and the ambient sounds while sitting on top of an outpost's pad
(which I guess will always block other players from docking in solo and group anyway).
Wouldn't want to bother anyone just for my own pleasure.

Then you're blocking the pad for the NPC's!

You monster
