Gankers at last!

For the last 3 trade CG's I've been turning up in my T7 in the hope of a player interdiction and no joy.

Finally someone tried to yank me out of supercruise... and I won!

Going back to Lidpar with another boot-full of battle weapons.

I reserve the right not to post again if I lose the next interdiction....

To be fair, Ganker is an unfair term here. You could have lost and instead of talking, forced cargo out of you using guns and limpets.

Note, this is the way I do piracy, and while it isn't unheard of from me, I do usually leave the target alive.

Drifting through space mind, but alive.

If you are interdicted by another player like this then all you can expect is the worst if you lose.

So I don't think it's unfair if legit pirates are tarred with the same brush as gankers, at the end of the day the difference between "legit" piracy and ganking is at the whim of the attacker.

If you let them.

T7 is one of the best ships for winning interdictions, btw. If you're brave, try it in T9 :p

Unikorn and several others here are what I would call Gentleman or Gentlewomen pirates, i.e. submit, give them a tickle from what's in your hold and they will let you carry on and still make a (large) profit from what is in your hold. To me, that is not griefing/ganking, it is piracy. You may not like it, but it's there and it's SO much better than a moron smashing an unshielded Sidewinder into you if you are speeding, for the "lulz".

I have just found that if I put my throttle in the blue whilst being interdicted I can beat it every time. Bit of a shame now that I am fitting ships for violence and no longer trading!

Yes, Unikorn and some others don't deserve the "Ganker" label.

But 90% of the commanders in CG space do. They don't care about piracy at all. Our luck is that there seems to be a rivalry between certain ganking groups and many times they are busy with one another and don't have time to kill traders. :)

Well having suicided half way to Colonia and wiped my save, if there is anything my Eagle with missiles can do to help, give me a shout. Did I mention missiles? I luuurve missiles!

That might have been me. T7s are notoriously hard to interdict and I lost a couple last night. If it was me you would have lived if you donated 4 units of cargo. If you didn't, you still would live but maybe lose a bit more cargo.

90% is a huge exaggeration, maybe 2%. Most cmdrs in CGs are cool people, most of the combat ships are looking for other combat ships (or pirates like me). 99% of traders make it from the star to the station unharmed. Despite the common misconception from the solo/möbius crowd. However, there is always that 2% but the added dangerous and vigilance adds to the fun.

This annoys the heck out of me.

Ganker(s). Gang-killer(s). Plural.

If it wasn't more than one player you call them something else. Griefer, Dbag, whatever.
But not Ganker. Ganker means there are two or more people involved.

I've found that if your engines are engineered reducing pips to engine makes it easier to escape, cuts down on the manoeverability to normal levels.
