ED and Community Tools - Do you use them?

I use VA, Roccat, ED Discovery, Market Connecter, EDDI, Hutton Trucker Tracker, EDDB, EDSM, Coriolis, Inara and... I have some moleskine notebooks I use as my primary commander's log... which sometimes get turned into things worthy of my blog.

Oh yeah... and often G19 too... forgot about that.

Yup! inara, eddb, coriolis. They are on my second monitor while I play.

How are commanders finding the trading tools just now. Was using just eddb for multi-hop routes but found it to be slow in keeping up with market prices. Is it something I'm doing wrong, a bug or is there an add on to make it better

I believe you shouldn't have to go outside of Elite for too much especially for the basics but sometimes I just don't have the time to faff about which is where Inara comes in to help point me in the right direction. Usually on where to find stuff.

I have VA but don't currently use (can't get used to voice commands and is often quicker to click a button, I think I may be getting old!)

I have recently started using EDDI, great for that extra immersion.

Yea, key to EDDB is need for update based on CMDR visits to given stations/ports while having a tool setup to record to EDDB the given ED market data at time of docking. Basically, the EDDB data will not be updated unless a CMDR visits who has one of the many tools which does the update to EDDB.

The simplest is the EDMC (ED Market Connector), which you can run in background and it will do the detail for you. Though other tools provide similar feature such as G19, EDDI, TCE (via EDMC), etc.... basically, most of these tools integrate with the FD API which provides real time market data at time of dock/event which can then be sent off to EDDB.

Multi-hop in EDDB is good, but indeed if a market has not been updated in a while, the prices may be outdated. I believe when you set up the multihop you can set the "Max Price Age" to something like 2 days or less to have better pricing matches on your routes.

I play on XBox, but luckily I have a simple laptop and use EDDB. coriolis and EDSM.

I am also on the devs discord, and I am currently doing surveying for EDDB by entering in all the missing data into EDDB for each system in the ROSS backend - planetary body information, faction info, and a small amount of other stuff.

We actually need more people to do this - even just using EDMC on the PC, along with EDDiscovery (which can enter in the basic planetary body info to EDDB), would help massively. This especially applies in the quieter areas of the bubble the more extreme regions away from sol (in the 150-300LY range), and away from the CG areas.

I would love it if there was a way to add the tools to XBox.

I use EDDB for finding the nearest particular ship I'm looking for as well as the nearest particular ship module. It reduces 'fruitless' travel that I used to do.
I see someone else mentioned Voice Attack. I use VA for combat sessions. It's that third hand I needed. Also use (some of) the KICS 4 voice pack.
