White or Black?

Neither, I'm an explorer not a pirate and want to be visible whenever possible. Both my ship and SRV are the same color...can you guess what color my suit will be?

P.S. Yellow is NOT my favorite color. My favorite colors are red, green, and yellow and in that order. I just feel in space yellow is good, unless of course you're in front of a yellow star :D

I went with green:

Small paint-related question: I've seen pictures of ships that have been out for some time and their paintjobs were eroded away. Not complaining; kind of like the ship is saying: "I've seen things you wouldn't believe..." I'm curious; at what level does the paint "percentage" have to go down to before the erosion becomes visible? Or is the erosion a high-level graphics quality thing, and not drawn on computers with mid-level graphics?

My Anaconda Explorer, having been christened The Golden Phallus™, is, of course, gold.

My Asp Explorer has the White Pharaoh skin.

Z...

You want to stand out from the background so you can see your ship in screenshots.

Kasper doesn't like imgur and other such sites, so I don't have pics uploaded anywhere, but all of the ships that I fly regularly sport the Midnight paints, even though taking good pics requires a bit more finesse in a lot of cases.

The Gutamaya girls look especially nice with the Midnight paint.

I don't know... but this is my Orange Anaconda with 0% paint after a few long range trips:

Still looks very orange to me... I'm not going to ask Frontier to do any paint stripping for me any time soon!

My DBX was white as I thought it would stand out better in a big dark universe. If had thought for more than a nanosecond I would have realised it would just reflect whatever light was around it.

But then, I am definitely no rocket scientist!

My ASP with the paint down to about 12% I think. From before DSE.

And my current Anaconda currently on a short trip only 7,500Ly away. I did a few long distance cruises to companion stars.

Just one trip to Hutton Orbital and you'll see some significant paint loss.
I think paint loss comes from time in Supercruise or time in SC at high speed. Like when you get up to >1000C cruising to a companion star >500KLs out.

To answer the question - I use white to explore ... :)

Awesome Commanders! I didn't realize there would be such a wide variety of colors out there exploring the galaxy. I might stick with Tactical Ice (White) for my explor Python. 😁

For Gutamaya ships, I go with the stock skin for exploration, and black / crimson skins for combat.
For my Anaconda, my favourite for exploration so far was Squadron Red.
Not sure yet what skins I'll take for hosting multicrew combat though. Probably not black, since as others have mentioned here, you want your ship to look good.
