That's exactly what I plan on doing. I'm going to concentrate on kitting/engineering my FDL, to run support and security for this mission. She's new to me but, thus far, has been reliable in combat situations. So far she is A-rated on everything except 4D sensors and 4D life support. Gotta keep that weight down for better jump range, since she's fully loaded with shield boosters and a 5A shield. As of now, I have my jump range sitting in the high 19LYs but that's only with level 3 engineering. I'm hoping to get into mid/high 20s by the time the 29 APR rolls around. although, if most of the event is happening on PC, i'll be S.O.L. unfortunately, I'm an X1 player.Regarding the event on the 29th April.

I don't think Salome intends to start a war. It is my understanding that she regrets what she did in the latter stages of Reclamation and that this was one of the reasons she turned over the running of the Prism system to Cuthrick Delaney. She chose to become Salome rather than Kahina. Since then, her story has been one of searching for the truth behind the events in the Formidine Rift.
.
I suspect that the choice we will all have to make on 29th April will be of the red pill/blue pill type: a 'Do you want to know the truth? After this there is no going back.' question or challenge for us to face.

That said, there's no harm in being prepared for different eventualities. There is enough time to focus on getting your favourite ship kitted out and engineered and to have some practice flying it fully loaded. Perhaps having more than one ship ready to go at a moment's notice might be a good thing.

There will be a part to play for XBOX players also... you have not been forgotten [yesnod]

If you could find a source to that claim, I would be EXTATIC! I'll be honest, I got butterflies upon reading your message. I simply cannot wait until the 29th of April, now. It has become more important, to me, than Multicrew.![]()
Sorry took me so long to get back to you, more information regarding this event will be coming in April. Regarding a source confirming inclusion of XBOX players, see this thread from Drew himself
I have to say, I'm very much looking forward to reading about this event on the forums whilst at work, 5 hours behind UK time.
It's this kind of interactive, immersive behavior that keeps me addicted to ED.
Ah, haven't got time to read it atm, although I see the opening line doesn't exactly meet forum rulesRead the text in the image attached above my post.

I feel your pain DrewC.
I'm also on EST in Canada (Assuming you are also EST) and am working 12 hour overnight shifts that entire weekend, so i will also most likley miss it. Still very much looking forward to it and seeing if there's an opportunity to participate once more details are released!

Well, after many months in The Formidine, I've finished my scientific article with the results of the expedition. I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks a lot to Momo for her help. She supervised my translation from Spanish to English, but all the mistakes are mine![]()
Yeah ... I work nights and weekends myself so the 29th isn't ideal. Thankfully ... I have lots of vacation and unused holiday time built up. I do genuinely feel bad for everyone who won't be able to participate.

Without actually knowing how long said event will last, wouldn't it be nice i these things went for about 48hrs - to give more people a chance to turn up and do their thing?

Unfortunately we are in a staffing shortage, so for that overnight weekend, I'm the ONLY person on shift in the Ops centerSo booking the day off is out of the question (I already checked lol)
I totally get you. I'm assuming I can take the 29th off ... I don't go back to work until Thursday night so can't check the schedule or request the time off. Got my fingers crossed though.
Timezones make life difficult even if you are free from other commitments.
If the event starts at noon (not an unreasonable assumption, I think) then that's 7am where I am. I'm long past the age where I'll get up at 7am to play a computer game, so things have a tendency to be over before I've even turned on my PC to check them out.
Idle speculation - but that's what we do here:
After the way The Hunt panned out, I'm guessing that FDev won't repeat that particular method for involving players. Regular 'treasure hunt' style events typically get solved within the first hour, so that's kind of a non-starter too.
As far as I can see, that leaves us with a CG-style event - since the only ways we have of interacting with the game world are to scan things, shoot things or deliver things.
Hopefully someone can suggest something that FDev can reasonably expect to do, that's a little more exciting than anything I've come up with.
