Hauling in a Wing

Question. A friend and I want to Wing up for some hauling missions. If both of us are in the same Station and grab the same missions, then Wing up + Nav Lock could we run missions together?

Probably don't need the navlock...for this...just agree which station we are going to in what order.

What about If I, in a T6, Wing with a friend in a Cobra as an escort. Will he/she get credit for my missions when i turn them in?

You can, though your missions are tracked separately. However, there is little benefit to this, aside from having someone to fly around with and cover (you) if something happens. What you probably want, however, is Wing Trading.

With Wing Trading, you load up on commodities at one location, fly together to another, dock and sell your commodities. The seller will gain the full value of commodities sold. The other wing members, as long as they are in the same station at the time of the sale, will receive an additional payment. If you're both doing this, then both of you will receive the bonus payment based on the value of goods sold.

Wing Trading only works with commodities then? That would work! So to be clear, I load up on commodities, we Wing Up + Nav Lock and head to a station. Both of us Dock. When i "sell" the goods, I get the full value and the others in the Wing get something else?

This could be great if both of us are carrying the same commodity. We both get the "Full" + the bonus from the other members selling their goods.

I have not tried it, so I am not sure i know what you are referring to. Does it not work?
Its a 50/50 chance it works.

sometimes it drops you 150ls from your wingmates beacon.

using it on bigger stations that rotate, bugs out the station. If you try to dock, and the station keeps rotating altho rotational correction is on, makes it impossible.
you need to leave the instance to fix it.

there was a time when navlocking worked fine.. i miss those times.

So it sounds better to simply agree which station you are meeting at and just meet there. Rather than Nav-Locking.

Think thats the best way to do it.

you can still try to navlock tho.. but when it drops you multiple times whre you dont want to be youll see my point :p

Nav lock is not required, but the rest - yes, that is correct.
Wing up, load up, move out.
When you've both/all landed, sell your commodities.
You'll get the full value, your wing mates will get a Trade voucher for a percentage of the sale.
If they're also hauling goods, you'll get a voucher when they sell as well.
Really nice when moving either high-value or Rare goods.

Nope, no multiplayer missions in Elite

that is not true... if you both are at the same station, and both have the same rep, and if you are both in the same instance.
the mission board will give you somewhat the same missions.
ive allready had it happen multiple times with assasination missions.

rank may play a part in the payout tho.

Do players in Wings Automatically get put in the same instance? If we are in Private Play I assume this to be the case.

if you can see your mates hollow symbol on the radar, you are in the same instance.
when you got your beacon activated, and you still see only his wingsignal while youre both at the same station, that means you are both in a differant instance.

Makes Sense. If the latter is the case, how do you get in the same instance?

most of the time the game will do it automatic, especially when your in a wing.
there are cases you can end up both in a differant instance, but most of the time it has to do with distance from eachother irl, i presume.
i have a harder time getting into an instance with mates from the US than my mates from Germany, UK or NL.

Thanks for the help! Will report back here on my experience as a sum up.

If you take skimmer missions or planet based missions you do them together.

E.g. If you need to kill X skimmers the total will be cumulative.

With nav lock it is temperamental- I have found it works best if just one commander nav locks on another - make sure you are not both nav locked to each other as that always screws things up.

One downside recently is that when we drop to a station, the nav lock drops one pilot about 12km out which is a pain but very amusing if it's not you.
