Where to hand in cartographic data at Colonia?

I’m returning from a trip to Sag A via neutron highways to Colonia. Now at Jacques and I have lots of cartographic data to hand in. I’ve handed in about 6 million so far and this has taken me to friendly with Jacques. Jacques is in boom, but even at friendly no missions are showing. I’d hoped to get a mission to take passengers or something back to the bubble. Three questions:

Which other stations/factions in the Colonia conurbation would be good to hand in that may offer such missions if I raise my local rep by handing in data to them?
Is there a way of telling how much cartographic data I have to hand in? It is doing it screen by screen so I can’t tell whether I have a few million or 10s of million left. Leading to question 3…

Are their pirate NPCs in the area?

I play solo but don’t want to risk a month’s worth of exploration data flying to another station if I may get killed. I’m flying a paper thin, tiny shielded slow Asp with a single boost capacity so my usual boost – jump may not work to escape interdictions.

Colonia hub in the same system is Jaques is a good place, there's the colonial Council and jaques is there also, they have mostly mining missions I'm not sure if you can turn in your data there though. And yes be careful there's pirates all over the place out there especially in places that are low security. You might want to be a little cautious. But if you don't have anything in your cargo hold you should be okay. If Colonia Hub doesn't suit your fancy there's a few other systems around the area that do have Outpost that offer some missions there again I'm not sure about the data.I just left colonia returning to the bubble after a very profitable two months of mining. Time for upgrades some engineering especially with the new updates coming. Good luck Commander and be safe.

There are now quite a number of systems around Jaques with stations. While I was there I liked Colonia Dream and Mortens Paradise. One is a large coriolis the other is a smaller space port.

All of the other stations in the area except Colonia Hub and Colonia Dream have Cartographics and accept data.

Jaques has a weird mission board which never has missions - all of the others in the region (except temporarily for The Nest and Kolonia Sobieski, for reasons too long to go into here) have missions.

Particularly profitable cargo missions can be obtained at Malik Station (LW-L c8-28), Dervish Platform (LW-L c8-306), Vitto Orbital (VY-R d4-443), The Pit (LW-L c8-133) and Morten's Paradise (LW-L c8-138) - but for best results you need to be allied with more than just the controlling factions, so if you have data to spare, just sell 5 million at every station. There are a number of systems which give out profitable missions of other sorts, too - but I'd save the exploration data for the cargo missions unless you have a lot to spare (or a particular faction you want to assist, of course)

If you're worried about the survivability of your ship, you can buy additional hull reinforcements, chaff launchers, and maybe even some better shields from Jaques' supplies - but so long as you don't carry cargo the local pirates should ignore you. If you have a better ship in the bubble you can also ask the shipyard to get it delivered - at significant expense and a 61 hour wait...

(Oh, and all stations except Jaques itself have "take famous explorer to the bubble and back" missions available - though nowhere in the region sells passenger cabins - so you should be able to find something suitable. Jaques has a presence at many of the nearby systems to make use of that Friendly rating)

Thanks Ian, that's the response I was after. I already have a passenger mission, sadly empty after I hit the Sag A tourist beacon and my brave famous explorer jettisoned into the void and took her 50 million with her.

Upgrading my Asp is an idea if I can replace everything and store my light weight engineered parts until I want to return.

I have a few much better ships in the bubble, but 60 hours is a long while and then I've got to get them back again.

I've lost count of the number of times I've been interdicted with an empty cargo hold/no missions. Attracting trouble is a skill I have in elite and real life. For that reason Donny's a no go zone for me [haha].

Even in the bubble Jaques mission board never had missions. The only mission I ever had there was during a CG and there weren't any missions then apart from the CG. I just think he's an anti-social old cyborg!

I looked into Ship Transfer to Jacques. 'Just' 715 million to bring my Mineaconda from the bubble to Colonia. It was so cheap I had my butler send two over.

Sadly Jacques proved very poor for re-fitting my Asp and didn't have any better than my weak level 3 shield but I stuck some chaff on and I cross everything each time I approach a station. It's a real shame there's no way of telling how much cartographic data I have left to sell as that would help in deciding on whether it is worth the risk of station hopping.

I was just on my way back to cash in my SagA* trip data.
Was.
I've just pancaked on a lump of rock about 3klys from Colonia.
I need a few days R&R at Morten's before I set off out again.

Might go south-west...

You can hand it all to me, I'll... take good care of it ;)

Hmmm, data.

Oh, there is, you just scroll down and click next 50 until you hit the end on the sell cartography page... duh.

About 20 million from bubble to core to Sag A to Colonia, which is better than I expected but less than the 50 million I'd have got if my mission hadn't failed.
