I am a huge fan of US Sports and some TV shows, but live in the UK, so have had years of practise at avoiding spoilers
It was an amazing incident. I'm still breathless. I remember being pulled into Witchspace on the old BBC Elite, but had grown complacent in ED and taken jumping as a good excuse to check my phone or something. No longer.

Was about to say the same. I saw it first on youtube personally. Sound crew needs a raise though. Just pure sound badassery.
It's still spooky as hell when it happens "for real" even if you've seen it on YouTube, so I can only imagine how pant-filling an experience it would have been cold.
I flew around the general area of the Pleiades for over a week trying to get hyperdicted after I saw the yootoob of the first hyperdiction.
Finally happened though.
Has it been established yet whether or not you need to be carrying UAs/UPs/MAs ? Or do you just have to be in the area?
In this day and age, it's either impressive or disturbing that you haven't heard about this before now - I thought I was out-of-the-loop because I didn't hear about it until the day after it started happening ... and that was from someone I work with who doesn't even play the game
1200 ish hours in and it had never happened to me before. However, I am carrying 3 spare UFs that were left over from unlocking Palin. And this is, besides the actual unlocking of Palin, the first time I've been jumping in this area.
I unlocked Palin, flew home (up near Sirius ish), grabbed my Corvette and flew back. So there is a possibility that it's that. Or maybe it's random. Beyond 3 UFs in my materials I had nothing else remotely odd on board and no cargo at all.

Probably unknown fragments, that stuff you need to unlock Palin (I think). The stuff that remains after an unknown artifact is destroyed/killed.
