...wut? o_O Enlighten me, I haven't heard of this.

Well. As it has roughly a week left and is fairly well known...

The basics are to stack data scan missions. All 20 missions are completed on a single scan, at a single base. The distance to and from the station giving the mission and the planetary base(s) is minimal. All that is needed, as no cargo is involved, is a sidey and an SRV.

For extra exploitative points, that's why it's a sidey, because it's cheap to self destruct and respawn at the station...

Coming in 2.3, data scan missions will be limited to 3 at a time.

Go to Millerport, buy a Sidewinder with SRV hangar (and SRV) and 4t cargobay (important because without it you can't get missions with additional commodity rewards).
Get 20 planetary scan missions (you may need some relogs).
Fly to Kosmala Rewards (about 0.16 Ls from Millerport).
Once you're close enough, mission targets will pop up - all 20 of them, at the same coordinates.
Target these, land, scan any of the datapoints.
Voila, all 20 missions complete.
Return to your Sidey, activate self-destruct.
Once you're back at Millerport, hand over the missions, sell or jettison any commodity in your cargo bay.
Repeat until 2.3.

HINT: You can scan all the datapoints - sometimes they give CIFs.

Well... guess I'll milk the gold rush while it's good then. :D That's what I like about this game - there's random things that give tons of money for a short amount of time, just like RL. :p

my fault i didnt realise i couldnt name and shame even tho naming and shaming should be aloud for pirates in my opinion. oh well hes in a python and there was an fdl

I'm a solo player, but i agree with you. Piracy should attract notoriety.

There's a reason we know Blackbeard's name.

As a matter of interest, how long has this farce been running?
If this has been accepted for any length of time by FD, it is simply blatant stupidity, in my view, it is a complete disregard for the product they, themselves produce.
That is incredible..

Cheers Cmdr's

I dunno... since the introduction of surface scan missions, I guess? Anyway, who cares?

Oh, and BTW - three of five factions in Quince are Imperial, which means your Imperial rank would rise faster than a Saturn V. And they also often ask for donations.

It's a odd thing. I don't begrudge anyone doing it, I just don't really see the point.

If you had a button (in any game) that you could just click on and instantly get millions of whatever game currency and maxed out equipment of whatever variety, and be max level if that is a thing in the game, would you sit there pressing it? At what point would you ask why you were even logged on? As you would not be playing the game any more, you would be just clicking a button. If there was a option at the start called 'start with everything', would you press it?

I suppose the answer is that people want to rush to the top, jump to the end game. And that's cool if that is what you want. I just find it odd as for me, the fun is in the getting there. I love the start of game where you have nothing. I love every tiny victory and every step of progress. Why would I want to just press the 'mortal to godhood in 30 seconds or your money back' button?

Odd.

Anyone destroying anyone at Quince is performing a public service...it won't amount to anything, but Quince and systems like it, combined with an absurd mission system, are prime reasons why the game doesn't have a functional economy.

I don't think it's rushing per se, I have been doing it for quite awhile and made a few billion off it. And yes, very well known and mentioned in the forums a few times in the past. My reasoning is, I don't have the time to grind and go back and forth doing menial things. I have more to do in life than this. So for me, I'd like to experience the game as I want to. Now maybe it would annoy people in Open, but I only play Solo mode, so for me, it's just of enjoying the possibilities without having to invest a ton of actual online playing doing monotonous things over and over to rank up very slowly.

The only negative is how many times one has destroyed a sidewinder each trip and if that's recorded, the loads of people doing this will have an extremely high death count. But as mentioned only a few more days of this left, so might as well reap as much as you can...

If you want money, you'd better go and farm skimmers. Quince is quite good if you need Imp rank or some data (especially Adaptive Encryptors Capture, which is needed for G5 fast-scan mod for DSS), but not as good as skimmers if you need money.

Meh, if I wasn't grinding ranks quickly in Quince, I'd be grinding ranks slowly somewhere else. Its still a grind and I want a Cutter.
