General / Off-Topic Horror in Stockholm !

As Trump is a Terrorist, as most western world leaders are too... Does that make all our bases valid targets too?

Conflating things will only aim to worsen the situation.

You might not agree with what western powers do militarily but to call it terrorism is pretty disingenuous and lessens the attention on the atrocities committed by those Western powers.

We do not bomb our population with the chemical weapons

No, but we (i.e. the west) have killed very large numbers of civilians as part of the US drones program... That's caused huge resentment in the middle east. It's basically a terrorist recruitment program.

It was a state air base, regardless of what you, I or anyone else thinks of that state.
It was Trump's forces who were the terrorists there.

Do you care to tell me, how a limited military strike against specified targets are an act of terrorism?

Edit; And now i need to defend this clown actions... UGH! God really hates me!

No importance. Assad is a terrorist and his military bases are terrorists bases, which use the chemical weapons to assassinate the innocent civilians

It seems more or less impossible what's going on in Syria. You'd think a Shia (Daesh/ISIS) faction, assuming that's behind Stockholm, would actually welcome the US attack on the Asaad Sunni regime but who knows if there's even any connection here; just a bloke who can't get a girlfriend probably.

This is accurate. I have great concern over the next 6 months as drone strikes have increased ten-fold since the previous administration.

It's sensationalism that will only confuse things on the ground. It is naive to call it terrorism even if the effects (drone strikes, specifically) are similar.

I have never said that Westerners are exempt from all reproaches. However the attack of last night is a military attack, not involving civil victims

In all case, the coincidence is striking

Seems as though there may have been zero or minimal military casualties, too.

Yes mainly material destruction

The Norwegian police authorized to carry weapons in big cities --- I believe that I'm dreaming - I did not know that the Norwegian police did not have weapons

Locking your doors is overrated anyway. If someone wants to get in, they will, locks be damned.

You say that but the one time something was taken from my car was the one time I somehow forgot to lock it... There's more than one kind of thief and some are opportunistic.

Coverage is like oxygen to these kind of attacks and we need to downplay them a little more. Of course they're still tragedies for those who are affected but we're not helping by publicizing them on the level we do.

100% this.

Based on a Swedish population of 10 million and an annual death rate of 9.4/1000, 257 swedes die daily from various causes, and because of the average life expectancy figures, we know that more than half of them are not natural causes. So, ballpark figure, there are 150 unexpected deaths in Sweden EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

Giving the terrorists front page coverage is EXACTLY what they want. Sometimes the freedom of the press isn't a good thing, it's just the greedy media moguls looking for any scandal or shock that will sell for profit :\
