Hardware & Technical The Scorpio project

The new Xbox will be more powerful that the PS4 Pro. This box of Microsoft will have the graphics power of a GTX 1070

Yeah saw this too. Interesting indeed. But they won't win the console race with hardware as most console players barely know what 1080p is, let alone even cares about it. It's the exclusives that will decide who the winner will be.

Seeing how good my PS4 Pro is (way better than what I anticipated) it will definitely not be crap.
Still, consoles have one main reason why consumers should buy them: exclusives. And neither Halo or Gears of War doesn't justify the Xbox.

I'll be buying a 1060 6GB this year. Cheaper, and for a simple 1080p @60fps guy like me, all I need.

I do wonder how many people are going to buy the Scorpio and run it on an ancient 720p TV? I say this because that used to be me, before I learned how technology actually works.

Just a FYI: I'm going to upgrade my GPU this year too. Was thinking about the 1060, but the more I read the less convinced I am. Originally the RX480 was beaten by the 1060 in dx11 and more or less equal in dx12, but with recent drivers the RX480 seems to have taken the lead. In a week or two the RX580 will be released, which should be abouyt +-10% faster than the RX480 and 20% cheaper. Until the 2060 is released it seems AMD will crush the 1060 with its RX580. Just my two cents.

Thanks, I'll keep this in mind.

That said, a 1070 is not out of the question for me.

Hey, if u rich boyo, go for it. Its a pretty cool card. :) Over here the retail price is silly though, E450-530 which is far above the MSRP, whereas you can grab one for $350 in the US. :(

I'm not rich lol. But, there's a local hardware retailer offering a 1070 for not much more than a 1060. For obvious reasons I won't be sharing the business name. XD
