Missions Wiped the week of April 10th

Exploration data obtained whilst completing any mission will be unaffected by this update.

Hopefully this proves to be the case and applies to exploration data not obtained during missions as there's no way I'm going to be able to get to a station before the release goes live.

You are not trying hard enough....

Yup. In game it specifically says it will be deleted april 10th. Support says it will be deleted somewhere in the week starting the 10th. Because, you know, why give consistent info when you can do the opposite? :p

Its called covering the options. Anyway its Elite, it should be dangerous with unknowns lurking, and FD chose to make this as ambivalent as possible..
It will just get CMDR's out of the rocking chair, not knowing when...

Cheers Cmdr's

I suppose I could call in sick and spend all day flying :D Pilots have flown the 65,000 ly from Sol to Beagle Point in just under 24 hours, and the fastest claim that I'm aware of is faster than that. And I think I'm *only* 30,000 ly from the nearest station where I can sell data.

Hi all,

To clarify.

All missions in progress will be wiped when 2.3 launches, whenever that happens to be (still planned for w/e 16th, i.e. this week).

In order to prevent long distance missions (Ruins + Long-distance sightseeing) from being issued for this week, we changed the mission templates to time out on the 10th at the latest.

Today was chosen as a safe cut off for the long range missions because we knew 2.3 would not be shipping before then, but that doesn't mean we're shipping 2.3 today (it will, however, mean those missions will not be issued from today).

To address other concerns in this thread and others; This is only going to affect missions.

CGs are not missions.
Exploration data are not missions.
Bounty and Combat Bond vouchers are not missions.

Thanks,
Dom

Thanks for the clarification. Appreciated.

This is why I haven`t played the game for about 2 weeks. Waiting for patch release. Might even wait till a few days after that.

You realise that level of uncertainly is, basically, telling people not to embark on anything in-game that can't be resolve within an hour for an entire week, right?

Not the best way to encourage people to play your game. [where is it]

come on dude... its an issue for a few days whilst FD get their final ducks in a row before 2.3 launch. its not like you cant play.

assuming its not delayed it isnt an entire week. FD wont be planning on forcing their staff to work over easter, so as long as there are no unforeseen issues the plans must be to have lunch on or before Thursday.

Anything? Erm... nope. Do almost whatever you want just like normal. Just long range passenger missions or anything like that is probably off the menu for this week.

It's happening ....... posted by Brett C .....

2.3 Beta Forum section closing soon
Hi all,

Just a reminder that the 2.3 beta is coming to an end... which means this forum will be archived (read only)!

If you created a thread in this forum, and wish for the discussions to continue after this forum has been archived, please report the starting/opening post and request for it to be moved to Dangerous Discussion.

Thanks!

This from me (not Brett) : Could I suggest that those of you who have been in Beta that you take snapshots/ screenshots of your Holo-Me settings ? It might help with tweaking faces in the live build .... just a thought anyway ;)

I just got a skimmer mission with a 1d 18h time limit...

Not sure what, if anything, to read into that.

:S

That only Ram Tah and long range passenger missions are being curbed by the incoming patch. For clarity, all missions will be lost when 2.3 goes live, but Frontier are stopping only the former types for now.

Did someone say "uncertainty"? I'm not sure I head correctly.
You also realize I did not like to drive, because every time I looked at the speedometer, I no longer knew where I was?
