Horizons Passenger missions

Hi, how do you complete one of these missions? I picked up one for CD-39 6137 to study the celestial Gem, long way but it would pay off with a 6Mill mission plus scans and some cargo but....
got to the destination and it changed to wanting to visit CD-39 6137 2 ok again not a biggy then again another big BUT....
I don't know what to do, I have scanned and landed and collected stuff and still had nothing to say it is complete.[where is it]
So I scanned all unexplored in the system and still nothing, the passengers should know better than me what they are supposed to be doing, I am only the driver.
I don't ask the Bus driver what do I do when I get to Slough???

Am I needing a surface scanner that I don't have?
The passenger said they were collecting the data not me.

Or can the passenger in question not be bothered to get off his backside after being in the Luxury cabin on my Beluga Liner, maybe he is rat-assd.[where is it]

Any info would be greatly appreciated

There should probably be a tourist-specific thingy, somewhere in the system, to interact with.
You shouldn't need anything more than the discovery scanner, for the passenger missions.

Looks like yours may have bugged out a little. :(

Go to left panel, Transactions tab and open the mission description, Scroll down to find out what needs to be scanned.

You may need to be within 1000LY's of the target before it appears in the Navigation tab.

HTH

Yeah, in fact if you're told to go to a system and then told a specific planet as you fly towards it slow down just before you get to 1000 LS of the target and look in the system menu on the left, as you pass 1000 LS you should see extra info appearing under the planet you're heading for. If there's only one appears you don't even need to look in the transactions tab, it'll be that target.

Whichever way lock the target as your destination and Safe Disengage then target the beacon or (if planet side) just fly down and target the beacon when 7.5k away or closer.

After a few seconds you'll get an incoming message. These can be multiple stringed destinations though so you might not be done yet.

Bugged!

Ok so it looks like it may have a bug, I have even landed on the planet and taken rock samples. when I got close the the Celestial Gem CD-39 6137 another message came up and said they want to collect data from CD-39 6137 2 which is the lock target, and now I got nothing. So I am not going to get this one with 3 hours left to complete the mission.
Cheers for the help, feel a little bummed after 2000Ly but hey ho.

Usually there's a tourist beacon to scan - it should be there look at your navigation tab when you get close (<1000ls) from the body described in the mission

Nothing on the Transactions tab for the mission at the bottom???

Once you reach the target system the transactions tab should update what needs to be scanned.

I'm always amused when I propose what should be relevant information and the response doesn't even indicate that the information was even looked at...

The mission was to head celestial gem at CD-39 6137 with the explorer total of 4 passengers, when I got to said destination it updated and wanted to scan data at CD-39 6137 2 which was not too much further.
This was updated via Transaction tab and via comms message. once I got to said destination that was the last update hence my frustration. like I said I even landed on the planet itself and got nothing, even scanned others in the system as I am
equipped with advanced discovery scanner. so it just timed out with then 2 more updates saying basically not capable blah blah and diseased was another one although the passengers remain in the cabin.

But your right it is possible I could have missed something but been playing on and off since beta, beluga liners are not cheap. Just treating it now as one of them things, but at the time it was bordering launching my X52 pro across the room.

When you got near CD-39 6137 2 you should have looked at your navigation panel and found a target below/belonging to CD-39 6137 2 (similar to planetary bases our stations) that was a tourist beacon (most often just called tourist beacon, sometimes they have a better title). There you need to drop out of SC, target the real beacon (they grey thing, not the orange nav target) and by that you would have scanned it after some seconds and completed the mission. Every tourist mission works like that.

Either you have overseen that beacon or you really had a buggy mission?

Btw, I just looked up CD-39 6137 2, it is only 264 ls from the main star, so you should have seen the tourist beacon under CD-39 6137 2 in the navigation panel immediatly (although it may have shown up as unexplored initially), because you were already nearer than 1000ls.

Thanks for the info, it is usually something I would look out for. Was expecting a base or outpost, but having said that at 3am it is possible it could have been missed.
All this info is helpful as I will do another one, maybe a little closer for a few or after a bit of engineer upgrades as at 18ly jumps it took ages.
