Yes, I was kind of sad that it is over. But I went right back into the black. I am at Hillary Depot right now and heading for Colonia.

It was a real pleasure to meet you all. I had the most fun in ED so far. Thank you so much.

Fly safe and see you in the black.

o7 commanders.

Is anyone else kind of sad it’s over? This was a really great idea, I wonder if there are any other clusters like this out there, any other potential locations for a Distant Stars 2. It would be really sweet to find one that is only now accessible due to neutron jumps that might even have a way back too.

I occasionally spend time exploring the highs and lows of the galactic plane, but I just may spend a lot more time at the fringes from now on, hunting for more out of the way locations like this. Seems like that would be an excellent goal for exploration journeys.

I'm a bit sad it's over. But at least for 3.7M rebuy I can enjoy an occasional vacation to a sacred part of the Galaxy now. And maybe even less if I can engineer a smaller ship to get myself there.

I sort of enjoyed it - it's somewhere where I wouldn't have gone normally and the view from the top is fantastic - but it seems that most (if not all) of the group meetings / events didn't coincide with my available time to be online. RL does get in the way sometimes. The "Dead Loss II" now resides in Ditmar Dock to remind me of the trip. She might take a run out if I need to get somewhere quickly but she's quite flimsy and a bit vulnerable.

Let's get a rough cost of the expedition!

See the video with voice (much better) here: https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDange...ious_mass_self_destruct_end_of_distant_stars/

I'm still out here in my Asp. I'm pondering making a video of many of the sights to see out here in each system. Similar to how I did this one.

Anything that gets groups of explorers together has got to be worthwhile.

PS - I may stay out here until Exploration finally gets some attention, and much needed love.

I'm a little sad too that it's over. It was a short, but action packed jaunt that I won't forget in a hurry.

But I've returned to Colonia now, to ready my ship for Mercury 7. That'll be a very different kind of exploration trip. But hopefuly no less fun for everyone.

Has anyone checked how much more jump range one can squeeze out with the new sensor mods in 2.3? Is it enough to make the elysium a round trip ?

You would need to quadruple your jump range to get back. It's 219.18ly on the final jump.
I think ~70 (ish) light years is the best you can do on the beta servers. With Jumponium that's only ~140Ly give or take a few.

We'll, you can actually get back from AH Cancri if you stop there and turn around.
That's how Kai and Erimus got there names on AH Cancri by doing a double neutron jump.
