thanks FD, DB.. thanks a lot

Just reading the AMA by DB, this gets me. About the next season expansion:- "Hi Golgot. Firstly on the season plan; I don't think people liked having to pay for multiple updates in one go, so that is something we are going to move away from."

So lifetime pass owners got the shaft. Way to go FD, the amount you annoy your original kickstarters never fails to amaze me. *sigh*

These sort of changes are seldom retroactive, if you have a lifetime pass I'm sure you'll keep it. That's a sue-someone-level change.

Sure we'll keep it, but its soon utterly pointless.

No, it just means when 3.1, 3.2 and so on come out that they get those updates free instead of purchasing them individually. Why would it change anything for a life pass holder?

The implication of what DB said was that each point update would be paid for individually, rather than per season. So instead of say, $25 at once, for 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, and 2.4, you would pay $5 for 2.0, $5 for 2.1, $5 for 2.2, etc (or varying prices based on content, with the overall math working out to be the same).

A lifetime pass isn't pointless in the least. You're really grasping at straws in the complaining here.

Nope, I have a LEP, and I just had to pay for nameplate and registration for my ships..

Cosmetic items are, and always have been separate purchases and were never included in the LEP. The LEP only applied to "Seasons" game updates, and presumably it will continue that way, though instead of it being four updates in a chunk, it will be individual updates. Regardless, I imagine LEP holders will get it all regardless.

This is how I understood it too.

Are you sure you had to?

PS I wasn't aware of ED back in the days of LEP so if naming was supposed to be part of the deal then fair enough but for me it's an optional extra not the core game.

EDIT - Ninja'd

Pretty sure you LEP will include all the updates. They are just selling em a bit differently to others.
lol at expecting cosmetics for free too

Yeah! Thanks FD and DB .. downloading 2.3 now!

Oh.

Look at it this way ..

Instead of ten years, of five updates per year. Now you get FIFTY updates over ten years!
That's like a 1000 times as many updates or something, for one low low price!

Ok, I'm seriously confused Steve50 .. what the hell are you complaining about? .. I just don't get it!

I think he is complaining that when seasons end the LEP becomes obselete and he'll have to pay for everything like the rest. Which makes no sense, so he's probably just ranting at his own imagination again. :p

People with lifetime pass will continue to get the updates for free, regardless of if FD sells them in seasons or individually.

Ok, just to assure you OP - Lifetime pass = All future content at no extra cost.
