Ship name censored - turn off

It's getting so politically correct these days that even the developers of an otherwise historically accurate simulator decide on what we as their customers will or won't find offensive....

What really gets my goat is that you can't even use historically accurate markings in the single player campaign as they've locked the option to use custom skins... but you can use them in online multiplayer matches.

Go figure [rolleyes]

If it's PEGI17 then there should be no conflict with any form of language. "Bad words" don't get censored unless the rating is below PEGI12.

If anything, it was a personal choice by someone in Frontier to promote intolerance by showing that slurs and sexual words are not permitted.

Here in America, we beat PEGI with baseball bats.

Down with censorship.
Down with whining parental groups who shouldn't or often do not, have children in the first place minding everyone else's business but their own.
Down with whining in general. Grow a pair and act like a human being.

Weird, 'cause you seem not to be able to handle breastfeeding in public or sexual education...

Beside that, yes I agree that ship names should not be censored.

Just headed down to Farseer Inc and, I swear, the first ship I scanned was named "ISIL WILL RISE" and the ship ID was "ADMIRAL ACKBAR" (or whatever it is).

People make me sad. [sad]

It is below PEGI17 - it's PEGI7.

It's a PEGI7 game (in the UK, anyway) - and Frontier have chosen to censor ship names.

Yeah, and I get it, honestly, because frankly, with me at least, my eyes feel physically damaged from the amount of eye-rolling I do with the way people name things in other games.

Be creative! nope......definitely not creativity people want to show off, its whatever makes them snicker.

And personally I can only see it so many times, (and yes I will gladly chuckle initially) but after so many online games and so many repeats it leads to eye strain from eye rolling. So I at last, get it.

I'm surprised anyone cares about this. Still gotta get on the bandwagon? Which of my human rights are being infringed today???

Get over yourself. It's a PEGI SEVEN. SEVEN not 17. If you're pro t play some CoD. If you want some boobies play Bayonetta :) Or just get creative with your ship names...

Personally I think spin bowling past the Profanity Filter is an art and you whiners just need to Git Gud.

Also don't complain when a mod has hung around 4 Chan long enough to know exactly what you are referencing and locks it down. Just take it on the chin.

Make your own game and target your own demographics, nobody is stopping you. As a parent I appreciate Frontier's attitude toward rude words.

Hello,

How to turn off censorship in shipnames? I would like to see uncensored shipnames on other players ships.
I can deal with it can be offensive and swearing.

If it is not possible, maybe it will be good to give an option to 'turn off censor' for player who decide to see everything/

Sounds complicated, in terms of Dev time and for what purpose, so you personally can see profanities CMDR? Could you look elsewhere instead?
