Actually, for me, performance has increased! Sorry that isn't your experience. Contact Support and I'm sure things will be resolved in time.

I've only had the chance to play for a little bit, but 45 mins with a little combat had everything running apparently fine here.

Nope. Performance is unchanged. If anything, dropping onto a station now seems slightly smoother.
That certainly seemed to be the case last night; most SC exits were more or less instantaneous for me although I didn't try a planetary landing. Of course that could be because 85% of the players who's network activity normally bogs down the server were still updating their clients and not in the game. I really hope it's down to optimisations though.

On the other hand I have seen some lag and stuttering in very specific places but without more information from the OP it's impossible to know whether they're the same places he's seeing it. His wording almost makes it sound as though the stuttering is in the Holo-Me suite. Maybe his hologram is acting like like Max Headroom?

I had a few issues... So between raising a bug report with as much information as possible, or coming to the forums to give people yet another entitled paddy thread... I raised bug reports.

Jesus. When you've had your ten minutes of forum fame and collected your rattler and dummy from the floor, please start logging bug reports and try acting like an adult (if possible).

Thanks.

(And yes, better performance for me too - apart from the well known Galaxy Map bug - glad I already had a route plotted :p)

It's running much smoother for me. I'm happy. Just the gal map bug to report. Other than that. It's looking and running fine. And my pc is a bit rubbish and took a while to get into glide but it is much faster now. Happy happy. ....now.....back to dressing up!

Performance is much better for me also - aside from the galmap issue, for which I alt-tabbed out straight away and added my voice to the already-created bug report.

I have spent soooo long trying to get my holo-me face just right - and I just can't seem to manage it. [where is it]

Go Barbie, OP [sulk]

I spent ~2 hours on my holo-me & absolutely nailed it...it looks just like me to a point where I asked my gf who it was - bearing in mind she has no clue what goes on in ED; the one time I tried to show her the game & explain all about it, she gave me the 'What am I doing with you?' look - Anyway, in the full body view she said 'it looks a bit like you' so I played dumb & said 'no, reaalllly..who does it look like?' & went to the close up view; she examined it for 10 secs or so, smiled & said 'How did you do that? Did you import a photo?'

The hardest part to get right was the nose...I spent ages on it & losing the will to live as I continued to miss the mark, but in the end just got lucky while rather aimlessly playing about with the many possible permutations/combinations.

Having said all of the above, in spite of the tool being really well designed & implemented, surely the resources could have been put to better use! The term 'opportunity cost' comes to mind yet again. Decision making with regard to features seems to be a real 'Achilles heel' with FD.

i only managed an hr last night after screwing up my install and having to install twice (thanks steam)

but in that hr i spotted 2 bugs, both minor, 1 already filed, one i put in (healing lasers off enemies, giving message at least of repairing shields)

but over all performance.... esp considering it was launch night which often causes network problems...

it was great. transitions smoother, both in swapping instances, and dropping into RES rings and in loading up LOD changes coming down to planets.

in VR (rift) graphics glitches were gone
and i thought the star map (skybox) seemed better too.

possibly all placebo but i do not think so. certainly i thought it was good.

that said this was at surface ports, i have not been to a giant space station yet.
