I tried getting someone to screenshot for me, pity they weren't using the exact same controller I have because what they posted made zero sense for my controller. Look I land a lot to take pictures of features, most of the times it's pretty simple shots for informational purposes.
In the old setup it was ctrl/alt/space, move forward and down, take screenshot, job done.
What happens now? I press control/alt/space, H to remove hud, C for free camera, it drop straight through the planets surface. I now have to wrestle with the controls to get it the right height, I have to press the key to slow it down otherwise it jerks all over the place, then the landscape is treacle creeping across the screen for a few minutes because I don't dare speed it up in case I lose it again. Then I screenshot, in a hurry because it' s already creeping away from the position I put it in.
Finally I exit the camera, phew.
Yes I get that a lot of people wanted a new camera because the old one sucked for cinematics, it's great that we have one, I don't do cinematics, I want quick simple screenshots, and I am not going to spend four hours working on the camera settings to still have something that sucks for my purpose. I said at the time in beta they needed a simple camera for people who want basic camera usage and an advanced camera for the creative people who want to do stuff. I don't enjoy playing with the camera now, I hate it, and that's not a good outcome. They could have done it easily, it appears the camera now has more binding than the entire set of controls for running your ship!
